Kaisen Sparks

 Kaisen Lyle Sparks, 13, of Blooming Grove,
passed away on November 27, 2021 in Blooming Grove, Texas.
Visitation will be
held at Griffin- Roughton Funeral Home Thursday, December 2, 2021 from
6-8pm. Funeral Service will be 10:00am, Friday, December 3, 2021 at
First Baptist Church of Blooming Grove with David Baumgartner of
Westhill Church of Christ officiating. Burial will follow at East End
Cemetery in Lingleville Tx, where he will be laid to rest beside his
daddy Kris.
Kaisen Lyle was born
in Granbury, Texas to Brittanie and Kris Sparks on July 3, 2008. He
attended school at Blooming Grove Jr. High School. He was involved in
football, basketball, baseball, track, Jr FFA, theatre arts, attempted
band where we quickly realized he could not toot his own horn! He
received class favorite and maintained (from the constant nagging of
his mother) honor roll throughout most of his academic years. Kaisen
was a lover of the outdoors, hunting, fishing (where he was in constant
competition with his little brother to beat the 6lb bass record at
Nana’s place). He loved exploring, finding new mud holes on his pit
bike his Maw & Paw bought him, driving the ranger to feed his first
show pig, bubba Brandon, while listening to music with his little
brothers. He loved music, all kinds (some his parents weren’t too fond
of), but he sang each song with feeling and loved being DJ Sparks in
the minivan. Kaisen had a passion for race cars, the smell of race fuel
and the adrenaline of full sending it! He even taught his little
brother B-Lane to yell “full send it” from the back seat of any vehicle
they were in together. Kaisen loved to see everyone happy and would do
anything in his power to make people laugh and always made sure
everybody was "ok".
Kaisen is preceded
in death by his daddy, Kristopher Sparks. Kaisen is survived by his
mother, Brittanie Waller and dad JW Waller; brothers Landen and Byron
Waller; sister/aunt, Chelsie Black; grandparents; Carla and David
Sparks, Donna and Terry Sparkman, Pam Waller, James Black; numerous
aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, friends and an abundance of
teachers and classmates. Pallbearers will be Jeff Black, Tanner Sparks,
Adam Sparks, Zack Sparks, Gage Smith, Rhyian Smith, Clay Crawford,
Grayson Baumgartner.
The family of Kaisen
wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Hunter Harris, Richard Hays and
the Blooming Grove Volunteer Fire Department, Westhill Church of
Christ, Blooming Grove First Baptist Church, and all of the Blooming
Grove family that have supported us through this time.

Patsy Ruth (Cofield) Ashley

 Patsy
Ruth Ashley passed away January 27, 2022, at the age of 77. Patsy was
born September 27, 1944 in Corsicana to Lewis and Alice Cofield.
Growing up on the valley farm with her siblings Dwight and Anna, Patsy
had a great childhood, enjoying all the good country fun there is to be
had on a farm. Patsy met her husband Donald Ashley when she was just
14. They met on the school bus when the Ashley family moved in up the
road. She always said from the minute she saw Don she knew he would be
her husband. They were married when she was 17. Patsy and Don were
blessed with 48 years of marriage before Don passed away in 2014. She
and her daughter Loretta were lifelong best friends. Her family was
very important to her, and she always made them feel special. For
example, every year for their birthdays, Patsy would make their
favorite meals. From meatloaf and scalloped potatoes to chicken and
dumplings, Patsy was the best cook ever! She loved being a wife,
mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was proud of her
grandkids and their accomplishments and of the birth of her great
grands. Patsy was a stay-at-home mom for 17 years. She worked a few
jobs before getting a job at the Twilight Home in Corsicana, putting
her caring nature to good use. Working there from 1997 until 2011, this
was the most rewarding job for her as an employee. When she was not
working, Patsy enjoyed crocheting, playing skip-bo and bingo, and doing
yardwork. She loved flowers and growing plants. An amazing cook
herself, she loved fried chicken legs. Patsy was a loving woman with a
very outgoing personality. Friendly and ready with a story to be
shared, she always said, 'That's just what I'm sayin'.' Her outlook on
life was to be good, kind, and honest. A strong believer in the Lord,
Patsy kept her faith until the end of her days. She was a member of the
First United Methodist Church of Chatfield. She lived out her faith in
her life through her giving, happy attitude. Patsy was preceded in
death by her husband, parents and her sister Anna Lois who passed away
at a very early age.
To honor Patsy's life, her family has planned a visitation on Tuesday,
February 1 from 6-8 PM at Corley Funeral Home. Her graveside service
will be at 11 AM on Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at New Chatfield

Allen Griffin Rites Monday
Funeral services for Allen W. Griffin, 73, who died here early Sunday,
were held Monday at 2 p.m. From the McCammon chapel.
Ray Sam Hulsey, rector of St. John's Episcopal church and Dr. Floyd
Johnson, First Methodist pastor, officiated. Interment was in Oakwood
Cemetery.
A native Texan, Griffin died at his home here. He was born Nov. 18,
1887. He had resided here about 50 years. Formerly, Griffin was
employed in the county clerk's office at the courthouse.
Survivors, other than the widow of Corsicana, are one daughter, Mrs.
Annette Mears, Austin; one son, Dr. Allen B. Griffin, Bar Harbor,
Maine; five grandchildren; one brother, W. B. Griffin, Oklahoma City
and other relatives.
Pallbearers were Wm. M. Elliott, Chester Sprinkle, Weldon Morris,
Eugene Stewart, Carl Mirus and W. A. Long

Elwanda (Prater) Pruett

 Geda
E. Pruett, 84, of Red Oak, Texas, passed away peacefully on Saturday,
August 22, 2026, surrounded by her children and grandchildren.
Geda was born on
July 26, 1942, in Frost, Texas, to Thomas Andrew and May Pearl Prater.
She attended and was baptized at Westside Baptist Church. On February
3, 1968, she married Donnie Pruett in Dallas, Texas. Together, they
built a life centered around family and created a legacy that would
continue through generations.
Geda was, above all
else, a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, daughter, and
aunt. She was the proud mother of six children, grandmother of 14
grandchildren, and great-grandmother of 37 great-grandchildren. While
she did not have any great-great-grandchildren, she had no shortage of
family to love, spoil, encourage, and occasionally keep in line.
Geda was the
matriarch of her family and proudly held that title. She was the
disciplinarian, the one who could keep everyone in line, but beneath
that strength was an incredibly soft heart. She was a loving Mom to her
children, a soft Nanny to her grandchildren, and an even softer
Great-Nanny to her great-grandchildren. Her family knew that when Geda
loved you, she loved you completely.
She adored her
grandchildren and great-grandchildren and took great pride in watching
her family grow. Her cousins were like sisters to her, and the bonds
she shared with her family were among the most important things in her
life. She leaves behind a whole bunch of family who loved her a whole
lot.
Geda enjoyed the
simple pleasures of life. She was an avid reader and especially loved
westerns. She also enjoyed watching The Price Is Right. Camping, on the
other hand, was not among her favorite pastimes. Her greatest joy came
from her family and the time she spent with the people she loved.
Geda passed away
surrounded by her children and grandchildren by her side, a fitting
reflection of the life she lived: with family close to her heart.
Geda was preceded in
death by her parents, Thomas Andrew and May Pearl Prater; her brothers,
Olin, Ruben, and Tommy Prater; her husband, Donnie Pruett; and her
daughters-in-law, Belinda Pruett and Debbie Pruett.
She is survived by
her children, Andrew Pruett and wife Jennifer of Terrell, Texas; Carl
Meredith and wife Sandy of Peoria, Texas; Donald Pruett of Maypearl,
Texas; Randy Brady and wife Trisha of Rockett, Texas; Daniel Pruett and
wife Mary of Red Oak, Texas; and Lisa Wise and husband Richard of Red
Oak, Texas; 14 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and numerous
extended family members and friends who will miss her dearly.
Geda’s greatest
legacy was the family she built and the love she poured into them. She
will be remembered as a strong and devoted mother, a loving Nanny and
Great Nanny, a beloved sister and aunt, and the heart and matriarch of
a family who loved her deeply. Her memory will live on in the many
generations she helped shape and in the hearts of all who knew and
loved her.

C. J. Smith, 88, of Big Spring, formerly of Abilene, died on Friday,
August 28, 2009, in local nursing home. Graveside funeral services will
be held at 9:00 AM Wednesday, September 2, 2009 at Mt. Olive Memorial
Park in Big Spring with Rev. Walter McCall, Compass Hospice Chaplain,
officiating.
He was born on October 6, 1920, in Navarro, Texas. He married Ruby
Allen and she preceded him in death in January 2004.
C. J. was a longtime resident of Abilene and moved to Big Spring in
2005. He had worked for Furr's Supermarket for 23 years, retiring in
1986. He was a member and served as a deacon of Holiday Hills Baptist
Church in Abilene and served in the United States Army. He enjoyed
fishing and hunting.
Survivors include a daughter, Verdie Lee Miller of Missouri; one
brother, Robert Smith of Clovis, New Mexico; numerous grandchildren and
great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Wilma Shannon and thirteen
brothers and sisters.

Dee Sims, 83, born
Lewis Lea McKenzie on January 18, 1943, in Fort Stockton, Texas, passed
away at his home in Frost, Texas, on May 13, 2026. Paula Dee Moorman
Sims, 75, of Wall, Texas, born February 9, 1951, to James Dudley
Moorman and Elsie Corine Smith Moorman, passed away at their home in
Frost, Texas, on May 17, 2026. Together they shared a life built on
faithfulness, family, aviation, farming, and an unwavering commitment
to one another all the way to the end.
At just three years
old, Dee experienced the loss of his mother, Mary Lou Sims McKenzie,
who passed away while giving birth to a younger sibling. He was
lovingly raised by his grandparents, Henry Roy Sims and Twylah Capps
Sims, whom he called Mom and Dad for the rest of his life.
After flying with
his father, Dee’s passion for aviation began early. At the age of 12,
he climbed into a plane while his parents were away and took off on his
own. When they returned, they found him circling the landing strip
trying to land. With calm instruction over a two-way radio, his father
talked him down, and Dee landed the airplane perfectly - beginning a
lifelong love of flying that would shape much of his future.
Dee became an aerial
applicator and a farmer, dedicating more than 50 years to the
profession he loved. Alongside him every step of the way was Paula, the
heart behind the business operations and the steady force that helped
build Three Rivers Flying Service into a successful family business.
Paula also shared Dee’s love for aviation and learned to fly early in
their marriage.
In 1974, Dee and
Paula married and spent 52 years building a life together centered
around hard work, devotion, family, and partnership. Paula was Dee’s
biggest fan and the protector of his heart, while Dee was deeply kind,
fiercely loving of Paula, and often the calm to her storm. Together
they raised their children, built businesses, and created a home
grounded in love and loyalty.
Dee and Paula are
survived by their children: Tamara Delz of Marble Falls, Texas; Monte
Sims of San Angelo, Texas; Marla Gilmore and husband Scott Gilmore of
Shallowater, Texas; Shelli Carter and husband Sean Carter of San
Angelo, Texas; and Janice Elmore and husband Joel Elmore of Frost,
Texas. Together they were blessed with multiple grandchildren and
great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.
They are also
survived by Paula’s brother, Mark Moorman and wife Julie of San Angelo,
Texas; Dee’s brother, Rex McKenzie and wife Mary; and his sisters,
Linda Webb of Bakersville, Texas, and Jody Ozier and husband Mike of
New Braunfels, Texas.
Dee and Paula were
preceded in death by their parents, Roy Neal McKenzie and Mary Lou Sims
McKenzie, James Dudley Moorman and Elsie Corine Smith Moorman, and the
parents who raised Dee, Henry Roy Sims and Twylah Capps Sims; Dee’s
brother, Ellis Neal McKenzie; Dee’s sister, Marilyn Gladson and husband
Norman Gladson; Dee’s brother-in-law, Ben Webb; along with numerous
beloved family members and friends who welcomed them home.
Dee and Paula spent
most of their lives in San Angelo, Texas, where they were members of
Calvary Baptist Church, before spending their final years together in
Frost, Texas. They will be remembered for their strength, adventurous
spirit, unmatched work ethic, and the deep love and loyalty they shared
with each other.
A graveside service
for Dee and Paula Sims will be held Friday, May 22, 2026, at 10:30 a.m.
at Fairmount Cemetery in San Angelo, Texas.

Curtis Wayne Stephens

 Curtis Wayne Stephens, 79, of Blooming
Grove, Texas, went to be with
his Lord on June 19, 2026, at the Clyde W. Cosper Texas State Veterans
Home in Bonham, Texas. He was born on October 24, 1946, in Galveston,
Texas, to Delbert Wayne Stephens and Margie Jean (Avery) Stephens.
Curtis answered his
country's call and served with quiet courage in the
United States Army during the Vietnam War. He entered the Army in 1964,
earned his Airborne wings as a qualified parachutist, and served as a
Flight Operations Coordinator, rising to the rank of Sergeant. On
January 5, 1968, he was wounded in action in the Republic of Vietnam
and was awarded the Purple Heart.
Curtis met Ida Mae
Laughlin in March 1973, beginning a love that would
carry them through more than five decades together. In his working
years, he lived much of his life on the road - driving trucks for many
years, then buses for Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) for fourteen
years, before retiring and, true to his nature, climbing back behind
the wheel of a truck once more.
A man of faith,
Curtis was a member of First Baptist Church in Blooming
Grove. He believed it was never too late to grow: later in life he
returned to school at Navarro College, earning two associate degrees -
an Associate of Arts and an Associate of Science - both Magna Cum Laude
- and was inducted into the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society.
But those who knew
him best knew where to find him - in the garden.
Curtis helped found the Blooming Grove Community Garden and tended it
more faithfully than anyone, through every season and every kind of
weather. He treasured his family, found quiet joy in his acoustic
guitar, and gave his time freely to the people and place he loved.
Curtis was preceded
in death by his parents, Delbert Wayne Stephens and
Margie Jean Avery; and his brothers, Michael Stephens and Joseph Allan
“Joe” Stephens. He is survived by his beloved wife, Ida Stephens of
Blooming Grove; his children, Melissa McCutcheon and husband Richard of
Long Beach, CA, Curtis Hugh “Beau” Stephens of Stockton, CA, Rebecca
“Becky” Stephens of California, and Jeffrey Wayne Stephens and wife
Lisa of Dallas; his stepdaughters, Cindie Phipps and husband Robert of
Blooming Grove, and Sandy Bryan of Dallas; his sisters, Shirley Graham
and Carol Lane; his stepmother, Alliene Stephens; his sister-in-law,
Kathy Vess-Jenkins of Dallas; his grandchildren, Benjamin Garfin
(Amanda), Timothy Garfin (Isaura), Elizabeth Rodgers (Christopher),
Samuel, Jeremiah, and Justin Stephens, Emma Skye Phipps, Steven Lance
Phipps, and Amber Palacios (Joseph Gunnels), along with Rebecca's two
children; thirteen great-grandchildren; and a host of extended family
and friends who loved him dearly.
A visitation will be
held from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral service at
11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at Stacy-Wilkins Funeral Home in
Goldthwaite, Texas, with Pastor Frank Escamilla officiating. Graveside
committal with military honors will follow at Goldthwaite Memorial
Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers,
the family asks that memorial gifts be made to the
Blooming Grove Community Garden, which Curtis helped found and loved.

Black, age 86, of Waxahachie passed away peacefully on August 5, 2017
at her son and daughter-in-law’s home in Blooming Grove. She was born
in Waxahachie on February 5, 1931 to Bruce and Dollie Maxwell.
She was married to
Wayne D. Wooldridge for 25 years before his death. They had 3
children. She later married Floyd Black. They were also
married 25 years before his death.
Besides her two
husbands, Sue was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers and one
sister. She is survived by one sister-in-law Erma Gay Maxwell
from Earle, Arkansas.
Survivors include
her daughter, Carolyn Valencik (Joe) from Houston, son Jerry Wooldridge
(Mindy) from Blooming Grove and Teresa Moss (Debbie Faulkner) from
Dallas. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren, Dwayne Balencik
(Vickie from Houston, Susan Valencik (Sona)Juarez) from Houston, Jason
Woodridge from Waxahachie, Carrie Wooldridge (Scott Sweeney) from
Blooming Grove, Wayne Wooldridge (Amanda) from Garland, Dave Dunn
(Virginia) from Tulsa, Oklahoma and Matthew Faulkner from Dallas.
Great-grandchildren
include Toni, Garrett, Aiden and Maddox from Houston, Katelyn (Manny)
from Corsicana, Gavin, Sienna, Triniti and Jonathan from Garland and
David Lee and Brittany from Tulsa, Oklahoma. One great-great
grandson is just over a month old and Sue was able to get 5-generation
pictures made 2 weeks before she passed.
Nieces and nephews
surviving Sue include Debbie Ritter and Shannon Rippey from Waxahachie,
Phyllis Mikulak from Emory, Wanda Lou Hicks and Tony Maxwell from
Plano, Darren Maxwell, Mike Matthews from Houston, Rebecca Jo (aka
Doll) Maxwell, Margarette Ann Chappel (aka Susie), Galen Maxwell, and
Bruce Maxwell from Earle, Arkansas. She is also survived by her
best friend, Evelyn Kimbrell.
She is being
cremated and the family memorial will be planned at a later date.
There will be no
viewing or public services. The family wishes to thank all our
friends and family for their thoughts, prayers, food and friendship.

Jack Rawson

 Jack
Rawson, 92, a native Texan and longtime resident of Austin, passed away
peacefully on Saturday, June 20, 2026, held in the love of the family
he cherished.
Jack was born on February 17, 1934, at his parents' home in Blooming
Grove, Texas, to Henderson Rawson and Ruth Swofford Rawson. He grew up
during the Great Depression years, a season that shaped his toughness,
discipline, and deep sense of responsibility. Even in the face of
financial hardship, he excelled academically, graduating from Corsicana
High School in 1951 at the age of 17 as valedictorian of his class.
That same determination carried him forward into adulthood. Jack earned
a scholarship to the University of Texas at Austin, hitchhiked to
Austin, found a boarding house, supported himself through work, and
began building the life that would define him. He later graduated from
Texas Wesleyan University with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and
Biology.
In February 1953, Jack enlisted in the United States Navy and completed
basic training at the U.S. Naval Training Center in San Diego,
California. He later trained as a Hospital Corpsman at the U.S. Naval
Hospital Corps School at Great Lakes, Illinois, where he graduated at
the top of his class. It was also during that season that he met Velma
Jane Conklin, a fellow student who would become the love of his life.
For Jack, it was love at first sight, and he proposed on their first
date. Jack received his honorable discharge in January 1957.
Jack and Velma were married for 62 years. Their life together was
adventurous, devoted, and marked by an inseparable bond. They loved
traveling across the country, visiting many of the National Parks,
running, hiking, riding bikes, and sharing life side by side. They were
completely committed to one another, and their devotion became one of
the defining marks of Jack's life.
Jack spent his professional career with the U.S. Department of the
Interior at the U.S. Geological Survey in Austin, Texas, where he
served from 1959 until his retirement in 1989. As a chemist and
hydrologist, he helped direct the collection and analysis of water
resources data across Texas, including surface water, groundwater, and
water quality data. During his distinguished 30-year career, he rose to
Associate District Chief of the Texas District and authored or
contributed to more than 50 scientific books and papers related to the
water resources of Texas. His work reflected the same intellect,
precision, discipline, and commitment to excellence that marked the
rest of his life.
Jack was a devoted Christian and longtime church member, worshiping at
Memorial United Methodist Church and Riverbend Church in Austin.
To his family, Jack was the ultimate provider. He was protective,
deeply loyal, disciplined, and determined that the people he loved
would be secure and successful. He was reserved, intense, practical,
and competitive, but he was also deeply sentimental. He could spend
hours searching through Hallmark cards to find just the right words for
the occasion, and he would often shed a tear reading them, even though
he was not a man who outwardly showed such emotion.
Jack was especially devoted to his grandchildren. He was their teacher,
coach, encourager, and faithful presence. He showed up for their
academic and athletic events, cheered them on, and instilled in them a
desire for excellence. One of the lessons he lived and passed on was
simple: if something was worth doing, it was worth doing well.
Jack is survived by his daughter, Gina Butcher, and daughter-in-law,
Teri Eubank; and by his son, Brian Rawson, and daughter-in-law, Carol
Rawson. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Brianne Butcher;
Brittney Simmons and her husband, Trevor Simmons; Luke Rawson and his
husband, Ronnie LeBert; Justin Rawson and his wife, Tori Rawson; and
Will Rawson. Jack is also survived by his great-grandchildren, Scarlett
Simmons, Violet Simmons, and Henry Simmons, with another
great-granddaughter Rawson expected soon, as well as many nieces and
nephews.
Jack was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Velma Rawson; his
parents, Henderson Rawson and Ruth Swofford Rawson; and his sister,
Darline Whatley.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, July 16, at 10:00 a.m.
at Smith Family Chapel, 4214 N Capital of Texas Hwy, Austin, Texas
78746. Jack's son, Pastor Brian Rawson, will officiate. A family
interment will follow immediately at Remembrance Memorial Gardens at
Smith Family Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, the Rawson family requests contributions be made to
Austin Blessings Co-op, a ministry close to their hearts that serves
vulnerable neighbors throughout Austin.
Jack lived a life marked by toughness, discipline, devotion, and love.
He provided faithfully, worked diligently, and carried his family with
strength. He often said, "We may not have it all together, but together
we have it all." That simple motto reflected what mattered most to him:
family, faithfulness, and the life he built with Velma. After years of
missing her, Jack is now home with the Lord and together with the wife
he loved so deeply.

Tucker Adams was born on September 15 to the parents of Annie Mae Eason
and Felix Tucker. Iceola received Christ at a very early age. She
expired on Friday September 16,2011 in Dallas, Tx. She received her
education in Blooming Grove Texas. Iceola attened the First Christian
Methodist Evangelistic Church where she was a faithful member of the
following organizations: Steward Board 3, Sanctuary Choir, President of
the Progressive Women Guild, Missionary Society, Membership Committee,
& Manner From Heaven. She leaves to mourn; 1 daughter (Helen R.
Phillips), 2 granddaughters (Laronda M Crayton) spouse (Anthony Crayton
SR.) Shawnta D Phillips. 2 great grandchildren (Monet T Crayton),
(Anthony R Crayton Jr.) 1 brother (Charles Tucker), 1 sister (Doris
Shed) Very special nieces and nephews, whom she held near to her heart;
and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends. Proceded in death
her loving husband Millard Adams and son Howard Robert Gee. 2 brothers

Nell Gee was born December 31, 1938, to Frank Gee Sr. and Louise Gee in
Blooming Grove, Texas. To this union three children were born Nell
being the eldest.
She was a faithful
member of Galilee Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of
Pastor L.R. Davis for 18 years were she once served as the Choir
President. She later moved her membership to Independent Missionary
Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor M.L. Gee were she once
served as President of the 20/20 vision ministry and sang in the choir,
until her health started to decline. Two of her favorite songs "Going
Up Yonder" and "Amazing Grace".
She transitioned
from time to eternity on Tuesday, March 29, 2022, at age 83 surrounded
by loved ones. Hollie was preceded in death by her parents, Frank Sr.
and Louise Gee. Siblings; Irene Cofer, Cleveland George, Mary George,
Amilean Nelson, Marine Whittley, Clarence George Jr., and Albert Gee.
Three nieces; Gwendolyn Anderson, Bonnie Whittley, and Ida Gee. Three
Nephews; Morris George, Odis Gee, & George Napper.
She leaves to
cherish precious memories and her family, children: Vernita Patterson
(Mitchum Sr.), Cassandra Gee, Revonza Gee, Michael Gee, Tony Gee, and
Natosha Gee; grandchildren: Shenique Gee, LaShundra Gee, Myosha
Patterson, Donnell Gee, Mitchum Patterson II (Sherry), Devon Gee
(Joyce), Darron Harris (Sherona), Dominic Gee, Keiana Gee, Hollie Gee,

(Payne) Gillen

 FORT WORTH - On
May 19, 2022 Johnelle Payne Gillen was called home to the Lord at the
golden age of 98.
Johnelle was born Aug. 30, 1923, to Leonard J. Payne and Esther Bruner
Payne in Frost, Texas. She grew up in Frost where she and her sister
Imogene McClure were raised by their maternal grandparents John and
Martha Bruner whom she loved dearly. For many years she worked as a PBX
operator for the phone company.
On Feb. 17, 1941, she entered into marriage with Joseph Daniel Gillen
of Blooming Grove, Texas. They were married for 59 years before his
death in 1999. That same year she moved to Fort Worth where she built a
loving home for J.D. and her three sons. Johnelle was a life long
member of Ridglea Baptist Church and devout Christian and dedicated
servant to the Lord.
Johnelle was an amazing loving mother, sister, grandmother,
great-grandmother, mother-in-law, aunt and loyal dedicated friend. On
her time on this earth she had a great impact and influence of all
those she touched and loved.
Johnelle was preceded in death by her husband, J.D. Gillen; sons,
Joseph Daniel and Jimmy Lynn Gillen; grandson, Clay Gillen; sister,
Imogene McClure; parents, Leonard J. Payne and Esther Bruner Payne;
grandparents, John and Martha Bruner; and her uncles, Ernest, Earl,
Eldred and Eugene Bruner.
Survivors: Son, John Payne Gillen; daughter-in-law, Candace Wood
Gillen; grandsons, Chris Gillen and wife, Joanna and Colin Gillen and
wife, Alexis; granddaughters, Jessica Gillen and Sara Hoover and
husband, Brian; great-grandchildren, Jacob, Emma and Mayleigh Gillen;
Quinn and Miles Hoover; Weston Payne Gillen-McGinnis; and numerous
nieces, nephews and cousins.

Payne McClure died Monday, July 15, 2013, in Arlington.

Blind in Fort Worth or the Texas Federation for the Blind.
She was born Nov. 1,
1919, in Lakeview. She was employed at Lockheed Martin until she was
blinded by illness at the age of 42. After this severe illness, she
went to work at the Lighthouse for the Blind. She became an active
member of the Texas Federation for the Blind, serving as president of
the local chapter; member of the American Business Women's Association,
voted Woman of the Year for the group in 1977; and an active member of
the Gardenia Garden Club for the Blind. She lived and supported
herself, and was active in the Sagamore Hills, North Richland Hills,
and Ridglea Baptist churches until diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease
in 1999. She has been an inspiration to everyone she met and knew
through her determination and faith in God. Imogene will be remembered
for her sense of humor, joyful heart, love for others and her
remarkable courage, strength and spirit.
She was predeceased
by her husband, Johnnie B.
Survivors: She is
survived by her sister, Johnelle Gillan; her daughter, Gail Allen and
husband, John; her son, Doug McClure and wife, Suzanne; Sherry McClure;
grandchildren, Laura, Lisa, Von, and Ron; step-grandchildren Jeff and
Julie; seven great-grandchildren; five stepgreat-grandchildren; two
great-great-grandchildren; nephew, Johnny Gillan; and numerous

JOHN ROBERT HAGLER, 91, of Pasadena, Texas, passed away April 28, 2009.
He was born in Winkler, Texas March 17, 1918. He served in the U.S.
Navy from July 1940 to July 1946, and then was employed by Ethyl
Corporation for 30+ years, retiring in 1985. He lived in New Caney,
Texas from 1968 to 2004, when he moved to Pasadena, Texas. John is
survived by Nell, his wife of 66 years and three children, John Alan
Hagler, of Laguna Woods, California; Carolyn Bailey, and Charlotte
Mouton of Pasadena, Texas; nine grandchildren, and 22
great-grandchildren. Friends are invited to visitation with the family
from six until eight o'clock Thursday evening at Grandview Funeral
Home, 8501 Spencer Highway, Pasadena, Texas. Funeral services will be
held at 12 noon Friday, May 1, 2009, in the chapel of Grandview Funeral
Home. Interment will follow in Grandview Memorial Park. While the
family appreciates flowers, donations to Alzheimer's Association of
Houston and Southeast Texas would be preferred.

- Linda Chloe Norwood Wade, 83, passed away peacefully on July 12,
2026, at her home in Canton, Texas. She was born on June 29, 1943, in
Corsicana, Texas, to Colena Copeland Norwood and Miller Jeff Norwood. A
graduate of Corsicana High School and Navarro College, she married the
love of her life, Wilson Wade, on March 6, 1965. Together they shared
52 years of marriage built on faith, love, and family.
Linda
lived her life with an open heart, guided by her deep Christian faith
and a genuine desire to encourage others. She never met a stranger and
had a remarkable gift for making everyone feel loved and welcomed. Many
of her children's friends came to know her as a second mother, and she
treasured lifelong friendships while continually making new ones.
Even through life's challenges, Linda's joyful spirit never faded.
During her medical treatments, she earned the nickname "Sunshine" from
patients and staff alike because of the warmth and hope she brought to
everyone around her. Through her creativity, kindness, and unwavering
encouragement, she touched countless lives.
She is survived by
her daughter and son-in-law, Allyson and Joe Rhone of Weatherford; her
sons and daughters-in-law, Justin and Tasha Wade of Waxahachie, and
Chance and Mary Wade of Bowie; her grandchildren, Charlie Rhone, Nancy
Rhone, Emily Carter and husband Spencer Carter, and Gracie Wade; along
with extended family and many dear friends.
She was preceded in
death by her beloved husband, Wilson Wade; her parents; her stepfather,
Jay Payne; and her brother, Larry Norwood.
A Celebration of
Life will be held Saturday, September 19, at 11:00 a.m. at the Bowie
Community Center West Hall in Bowie, Texas. A private family burial
will be held later at Hamilton Beeman Cemetery in Corsicana. In lieu of

 Gary
Wayne Nelson, 66, of Corsicana, Texas, passed away on Sunday, August 2,
2026, at his ranch - the place he loved most. A lifelong resident of
Navarro County, he always considered it home, from watching the sunrise
to the sunset.
He was born on August 24, 1959, in Corsicana to
Wayne and Judy Nelson. Gary started school in Mildred while his family
lived on the Stroube Ranch, where he worked alongside his father and
his brother and learned the land and the trade. He later transferred to
and graduated from Blooming Grove High School.
Gary was a cowboy
through and through, and one of the hardest workers anyone knew. His
love and knowledge of cattle began at a young age and never faded, and
he carried the family's farming and ranching legacy forward every
single day of his life. He worked hard for everything he had, took
pride in all he did, and earned the respect of all who knew him. He
passed that same work ethic and love of the land down to his children
and grandchildren.
On April 16, 2023, Gary married Christie.
Some love stories begin early; theirs began later in life, proof that
God's timing is always perfect. Together they shared a home full of
faith and family.
He had a huge heart and cared deeply for the
people around him. If anyone needed a hand hauling a load of cattle, a
few bales of hay, or the use of his working facility, they knew exactly
who to call. He rarely missed a ball game his kids or grandkids were
playing in, and he was always there to help wherever he was needed.
Above
all, Gary loved the Lord. His faith in Christ took root at an early age
and stayed with him through his final day. Anyone who walked into his
home couldn't help but notice his Bible lying open on the coffee table
in the living room. He cared deeply for his church and his church
family.
Gary is survived by his wife, Christie Nelson; his
parents, Wayne and Judy Nelson; his son, Jeff Nelson and wife Melissa,
and their children Frankie and Cade; his daughter, Joni Baker and
husband Chad, and their children Paige and Peyton; and his daughter,
Courtney Nelson and Jake, and their children Andi, Darby, Cooper, Coby,
and Grady.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Mike Nelson. The family finds
comfort in knowing the two of them are together again.
Visitation
will be held Wednesday, August 5, 2026, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at
Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home in Corsicana. A funeral service will be
held Thursday, August 6, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Cowboy Heritage Church
of Freestone County, 309 US Highway 84 W, Teague, Texas, with Jimmy
Cotton officiating. Graveside burial will follow at 12:30 p.m. at
Oakwood Cemetery in Corsicana.

Dorothy Lee (Harrison) Moore

 Dorothy Harrison Moore, better known as
just “Dot” or “Mama Dot” to
friends and family, was a tiny woman – but when she died in December,
she left behind a huge footprint on those who knew and loved her.
Born and raised in
Frost, Texas, Dot lived the last 50 of her 87 years in Hays and
Caldwell counties.
She taught
government at Lockhart High School in the 1960s and 1970s.
Later she managed the trade books section of Colloquium Books in San
Marcos and was a copy editor at the Hays Free Press between Buda and
Kyle.
Well before
“liberated” women were common, Dot worked as an aide in the
Texas Legislature and earned a bachelor’s before marrying, and finished
her master’s degree in Politcial Science while raising a family.
Much of Dot’s adult
life was spent in Maxwell, where she accomplished
her proudest work: rearing four daughters, to whom she was a devoted
mother. For nearly 50 years she was married to John L. Moore, who
taught agriculture at Southwest Texas State College. They lived in
various rural towns across Texas while John worked for the SCS before
settling in Maxwell.
John and Dot grew up
together in Frost, where her father was
superintendent of schools and a hero to both. The kids grew up friends
but didn’t date until after graduating and corresponding while John
served in the Pacific in World War II. Courtship began after the War;
they married in 1947.
A life-long advocate
of quality education, freedom of speech and
religion, and civic engagement, although somewhat introverted, Dot
could be fiercely outspoken, using skills honed on the Frost High
debate team. She voted in every election after becoming old enough to
cast a ballot and had a “Proud to be a Democrat” sticker on her door
when she died at home in Maxwell, under Hope Hospice care, surrounded
by her daughters, two days before Christmas.
In her final years,
Dot endured a difficult illness with a mixture of
stubbornness and grace, made possible in great part by devoted
caregivers Rosa Resendez and Vicky Ybarra.
Ms. Moore is
survived by daughters, Kay Moore and Fred Edmiston, of San
Marcos, Anne and George Grant, and grandsons Clayton and Drew, of
Austin, Jane Moore, of Maxwell, and former husband Kenny Scheffer, and
Jill Moore, of Bay City. She is also survived by brother Doug Harrison
and wife, Kay, and their children, Carol and Steve.
The family plans a
farewell tribute Saturday, Jan. 14, at Maxwell
Ebenezer Lutheran Church Education Building at 11 a.m. In lieu of
flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Frost High School
Library (c/o Frost HS, 208 N. Wyrick, Frost, Texas 76641), local
Habitat for Humanity, or charity of your choice. |

Her Heavenly Father has called her home where she resides eternally now
with the Lord. She has finished the race and kept the faith (2. Tim
4:7). Margie passed on October 28, surrounded by many of her children
and grandchildren who will miss her loving presence greatly. Born
October 12, 1928, in a farmhouse that had neither electricity nor
running water, Margie was the fifth of seven living children. Her
parents, William and Willie Barnes, raised her in a Christian home
where she learned to love the Lord and to love her country. Through the
years, she would often speak to her children and grandchildren of her
childhood - going to school barefooted, picking cotton, milking cows,
gathering eggs, planting crops, and numerous other farm chores. It was
a hard life, one she never would have changed, and one that taught her
many of life's valuable lessons. Margie made her profession of faith at
the Navarro Mills (Texas) Baptist Church and was baptized at the age of
ten. This early foundation was the basis for which she dedicated her
life to serving others and telling them about the hope and assurance
she had in Christ! She willingly shared the gospel and unabashedly
glorified the Lord in her worship! After high school, Margie attended
nursing school before marrying Weldon Stone Copeland Sr., the father of
her three children, in 1948. Margie loved her children unconditionally
and they in turn cherished her and the love she freely gave. While
raising her children, the Copeland house had a revolving door with
neighborhood children coming and going as Margie was a mother to all -
offering food and words of wisdom. She married William (Bill) Ruth in
1975. He was the father of two daughters with whom Margie developed
warm and loving relationships. She was a loyal friend to all - from her
childhood to the new friendships she acquired in recent years. She
would open up her home to dinner parties, swimming parties, and
gatherings alike. One of her greatest joys was in bringing family and
friends together in fellowship. She was predeceased by her parents, by
all of her brothers and sisters, by daughter-in-law, Tina Copeland, by
Weldon S. Copeland Sr., and by William Ruth and his daughter, Kathleen
Rice. She is survived by her daughter Carolyn (Atila Bozkurt) Copeland,
her son Weldon (Cindy) Copeland, Jr., her son William (Carolina)
Copeland, Barbara (Albert) Teran, as well as many grandchildren, great
grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will
be held on November 12, 2022, at 9:30 A.M. at Memory Gardens (4900
McNutt Rd, Santa Teresa, NM 88008). "Surely goodness and mercy shall
follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of
the LORD forever." Psalm 23:6.

died December 19, 2013 of leukemia. She was 82.
Cecil is survived by her sister, Margie Ruth, her five children, Bill
Mannefeld, Barry Mannefeld, Cynthia Brugge, Cecilia Kronstad and Mary
Crews; and her 11 grandchildren.

CHILLICOTHE - Edward L. Hollingsworth, 53, of Camdenton, Mo., formerly
of Chillicothe, died Tuesday in Camdenton.
Services will be at 2 p.m. tomorrow at Weber Funeral Home. Burial
will be in Chillicothe City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7 to 9
p.m. today at the funeral home.
He was born March 1, 1930. He married Betty Little Jan. 6, 1949, in
Texas.
She survives along with his mother. Bess Hollingsworth of
Bloomington Grove (sic) Tex.; two sons, Rick of Lacon and Edward of
Carnegie, Okla.; one daughter, Debra Adams of Sparland; one brother,
Bert of Fort Worth, Tex.; one sister, Peggy Fulles of Fort Worth, and
two grandchildren.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Chillicothe and a
veteran of the Korean War.
He retired from Caterpillar Tractor Co. 18 months ago.

completely.

husband of 48 years, Everett Bertran Hollingsworth.

David Ralston, Jr. passed away on July 19, 2026. He was born to William
David Ralston and Barbara Cox Ralston on July 26, 1944, at the Navarro
Clinic in Corsicana, Texas.
Dave was a boy scout and earned the
rank of Eagle Scout. He graduated from Corsicana High School in 1962,
and he received a Bachelor of Science from the University of Texas in
1966. He served in the United States Navy from 1966 to 1970 aboard the
USS Kitty Hawk. He married Donna Williams on October 4, 1969. They
lived in Bremerton, Washington, Austin, and Lubbock before settling in
Corsicana. Dave received his J.D. from Texas Tech University and
practiced law in Navarro County for more than 45 years.
A member
of Westminster Presbyterian Church, Dave served as a Ruling Elder and
sat, predictably, on the second pew. He also gave generously of his
time to the community, serving on numerous boards, including the
Warehouse Living Arts Center, Navarro Regional Hospital, Corsicana
Country Club, Navarro County Bar Association, State Bar of Texas
Grievance Committee, Garrity Charity Association, Navarro College Legal
Assistant Program Advisory Board & Founding Advisor, and the
Navarro Central Appraisal District Appraisal Review Board.
Dave
had a deeply held sense of honor and believed strongly in doing what
was right. He was principled, dependable, and held himself to the same
high standards he expected of others. Dave loved language, respected
the rules of grammar, and possessed an impressive vocabulary. When his
children were young, his lectures occasionally required translation
from their mother before they fully understood what they had done
wrong. His seriousness was balanced by wit and a wonderful sense of
humor.
Dave was a lifelong golfer and valued the many
friendships he made through the game. He also enjoyed camping, whether
at Navarro Mills Lake or on a road trip to Colorado or California. He
even allowed his family to come along sometimes.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Donna; his parents; and his
sister, Shirley Greer.
He
is survived by his son, William David (Tracy) Ralston, III of Conroe,
Texas; his daughter, Rebecca Kinkade and husband Jason of Corsicana,
Texas; his grandchildren, Daniel Davis, Bryce Davis, Kolby Kinkade,
Ralston Cain, Will Ralston, and Keller Kinkade; his sister, Sandra
Dowd; his brother, Paul Ralston and wife Kim. He is also survived by
his longtime legal secretary and trusted friend, Paula McClure, who
worked alongside Dave for over 40 years and holds a special place in
the Ralston family.
A memorial gathering will be held Wednesday,
August 5, 2026, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Corley Funeral Home. A
Service of Witness to the Resurrection and Celebration of Life will be
held Thursday, August 6, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Westminster
Presbyterian Church, officiated by the Reverend Jen Mitchell.

Ray McClure, age 79, of Corsicana, Texas, passed away peacefully on
August 6, 2026, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was
born on April 11, 1947, in Frost, Texas, to James and Elizabeth McClure.
Alvin
was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend who
took great pride in his family and the life they shared together. Above
all else, his family was the most important part of his life, and he
treasured every moment spent with them.
Alvin proudly served his
country as a Vietnam Veteran. His dedication to his fellow veterans
continued throughout his life as he became a charter president of the
Vietnam Veterans Association. He was proud of his service and of the
friendships and bonds he formed with other veterans.
Alvin was a
hardworking man who spent more than 20 years driving for Central
Freight. He later worked as a maintenance man for Kohl's for more than
15 years, where his ability to fix just about anything was greatly
appreciated. He enjoyed staying busy and taking pride in his work.
In
his free time, Alvin loved hunting and fishing and had a special
appreciation for classic cars. He enjoyed spending time outdoors and
pursuing the hobbies that brought him happiness. But more than
anything, Alvin loved his family and the time they spent together.
He
is survived by his loving wife, Jamie McClure; his son, Jay McClure;
his grandsons, David McClure and Judson Bass; his brother, Jimmy
McClure; and numerous extended family members and friends who will
cherish his memory.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Elizabeth McClure,
and his sister, Zulina Rohus.
A
graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 8,
2026, at Hamilton-Beeman Cemetery with Tim Easley officiating.
Alvin
will be remembered for his love of family, his dedication to his
country and fellow veterans, his hardworking nature, and the many
memories he created throughout his life. His legacy will live on in the
hearts of those who knew and loved him.

Lee Renner, 87, of Corsicana, Texas, passed away peacefully on August
26, 2026, with his daughter and son-in-law by his side.
Wayland was born on January 7, 1939, to Alfond and Bessie Renner of
Nelsonville, Texas. He spent his childhood working on his family's farm
and ranch. He helped plant and harvest corn and cotton beginning around
the age of seven, with memories of hand-picking cotton and filling up
his tote sack, while also daily tending to the sheep, pigs, chickens,
and cattle, and helping his mother care for her large garden.
He went to school in Bellville, elementary through high school, until
he graduated in 1958. He played football throughout the years.
During the Berlin Crisis of 1961, Wayland served as a member of the
Texas Army National Guard. His military footprint was deeply tied to
Bellville's localized involvement in the Cold War. He was part of
Bellville's local National Guard Unit - Company C, 386Th Engineer
Battalion Combat Unit, popularly known in Austin County history as the
"Bellville 49ers". In October 1961, as tensions escalated over the
Berlin Wall, President John F. Kennedy federalized his unit alongside
the 49Th Armored Division. Wayland and his fellow local guardsmen were
mobilized into active U.S. Army Duty. He was deployed with his unit to
Fort Polk, Louisiana, where they underwent rigorous combat readiness
training to reinforce U.S. forces until they were deactivated and
returned home in August 1962.
On February 8, 1964, he married Vivian Zatopek and they had one
daughter Elizabeth. Wayland and Vivian were married 49 years before her
passing in 2013. In her last days, Wayland would read Psalms 23 out of
his mother's Bible to her. There are several chapters marked in Psalms
in his mother's Bible, which we believe he sought and found comfort
from. He continued with his daily Bible study and read until he could
no longer remember or couldn't find his glasses. Almost at the end of
every visit we'd sat "see you soon or see you later" and he would
respond, "if the Good Lord wills".
Wayland lived a simple life, and it was the simple things he enjoyed
the most. He loved his family, loved to cook barbeque, hunt, fish,
anything outdoors, and played on a men's softball team in the 1970's.
He was a big practical joker. He loved to play pranks on people, speak
to them in German or Czech when he knew they couldn't understand him,
and was also skilled at making animal sounds that his grandkids loved
to hear, even his great grandchildren. He was not a complainer and
always did the best with what he had.
Wayland is survived by his daughter Elizabeth (Todd) McGraw; his
granddaughters Katie (Jacob) Selby and Lainie (Ethan) Bredmeyer; four
great grandkids; brother Kenneth (Rosalie) Renner; nephew Jerral
(Cindy) Johnson and their family.\

Harold
"Hal" Weston Holdeman, Jr., was born on March 29,1949, in San Angelo,
Texas, to Harold and Jessilene "Ginger" Ryals Holdeman. Being the
eldest son, he was followed 2 years later by a sister, Linda Louise
Holdeman. He spent his formative years up to age 12 on his grandfather
Holdeman's ranch in West Texas, including many summers with his Gramm
climbing rock formations as she painted her West Texas pictures. Hal
spent grades 6, 7, and 8 at the San Marcos Military Academy and
was spared misfortunes due to the school's disciplinary methods.
He graduated from Richardson High School in 1967, working after school
at Kroger Grocery Store. He attended Texas A & M one semester and
graduated from the University of Houston with a BA degree in Statistics.
Hal's
early career life included accounting, Volkswagen and Mercedes Benz
mechanics, and delivery service jobs. He attended St. Matthews
Episcopal Church in Belaire, Texas. He planted trees on the church
property and did the lecture readings. He married Pamela Jo Allyn on
August 12, 1979. They were married by the first female Episcopal
priest, Rev. Betty Masquelette, who became a spiritual mentor to the
couple for 27 years.
Hal and Jo both graduated from the Rhema
Bible Training Institute in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, completing the
two-year program. They then went to McAllen, Texas, to attend King's
Way Missionary Institute to learn Spanish and the skills needed to
become missionaries. They spent 6 years as independent missionaries in
Mexico in various capacities, including automobile maintenance on
Missionaries' vehicles, delivering medical supplies to orphanages in
Mexico, and assisting missionary families obtain household goods.
The
family moved to Dallas, Texas, with three children in tow--Terra,
Stephen, and Sunni. Hal had learned the aluminum siding trade while in
McAllen and brought his skills to the Metroplex, where he had a siding
installation business for over 20 years. He even wrote an instruction
manual about siding installation for the Home Depot. He became a
carpenter and mastered a new skill each year, such as front door
installations, window replacements, skylight installations, deck
building and all exterior emodeling. As Apostle Paul was a tent maker,
Hal was a carpenter who ministered to each family as he worked on their
homes. Many lives were touched as this gentle carpenter applied his
Bible knowledge and prayers to his clients.
Hal's hobbies
included interpreting and translating the Bible, sailing his Nacra
sailboat, learning JavaScript, and photography. He took computer
classes at Eastfield College to keep up with the changing times. He
became a Dallas County Master Gardener in 2013 and spent a decade
volunteering with the Master Gardener Community Gardens and various
projects. He also built ramps for the disabled and taught a Men's Bible
Study for his local church. He returned to night school in 2021 and
graduated from the Heating,
Ventilation, and Air Conditioning
Specialist program, which he took very seriously. Hal and Jo enjoyed
camping during summer vacations. They were able to visit 28 National
Parks, of which the Grand Canyon was a favorite that he returned to as
often as he could. His nickname was Happy Hal. He was very fond of his
cousin Rodger Sewell who was his texting buddy.
Hal departed for
Heaven from Dallas, Texas, on March 8, 2023. He is survived by his
wife, P. Jo Holdeman, his daughter Dr. Terra C. Caudill, his son
Stephen Holdeman and grandson Colt, his daughter Sunni Cheney and
grandsons Michael and Jaison, his
mother Ginger Gillespie, his sister Linda Howard, and his sister
Harriet Ann Holdeman.

“Red” Malone He was the second of three children Timmy passed away
peacefully at his home on August 22, 2026, with his beloved love,
Julia, by his side
Timmy was a hardworking man who spent his life
in the construction industry. After attending Frost School, he went on
to attend college and earn his degree. He later made a career operating
bulldozers in construction, a job he took great pride in and devoted
many years of his life to.
Timmy had a passion for collecting guns and enjoyed the time he spent
pursuing his interests. More than anything, though, he treasured the
people he called family. He was blessed with both his own children and
a loving bonus family, creating a large family that brought him many
years of memories and happiness.
Timmy is survived by his beloved love, Julia; his brother, David
Malone; Krysta "Booboo" Nelson; his daughters, Mandi Wofford, Laura
Adams, and Amanda Coppock; his sons, Kyle Malone and Jimmy Wallace;
seven grandchildren; one great grandson; his bonus daughter, Susan and
husband Chat DeMoss; his bonus son, Timothy Nelson; nine bonus
grandchildren; and four bonus great-grandchildren, with one more on the
way.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Vicki Hanna.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, from 6:00 p.m.
to 8:00 p.m. at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home. Funeral services will be
held on Thursday, August 27, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Dresden Methodist
Church. Pallbearers will be Bill Cunningham, Keith Robertson, Jeff

Sonya was born on
October 2, 1934 in Shamrock, Texas to Cyril and Glondon Youngblood. She
was known for her generous, loving heart, eccentric sense of humor, and
she touched the lives of all who knew her.
Throughout her life,
Sonya found joy in Jesus, counseling children and spending time with
her family. She especially loved Halloween, knitting and traveling, and
her greatest joy was spending time with her grand and great
grandchildren.
Sonya is survived by
son, Rickey Newton and wife, Joanne, son Randy Newton, daughter
Kimberly Sharp and husband, Richard, grandchildren Shae Newton, Reavis
Newton, Kacee Harvey and husband, Nathan, Lexie Schrader, Chelsea
Anderson and husband, Andrew, Corey Newton, Shelby Taylor, Victoria
Newton, Carter Sharp and wife, Jillian, and 6 great grandchildren and
one more expected to arrive in October. She was preceded in death by
her husband, Barney Newton and parents, Cyril and Glondon Youngblood.
Those who knew Sonya
will remember her as "Nanee", "Grandma Fruit Loop", or "Q-Tip", and she
wouldn't have it any other way. She leaves behind a legacy of love,
faith, joy, and rubber duckies that will continue through the lives of
those she loved.

at the age of 83 after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s. She was
born on February 8, 1943 to George and Viola Ward of Blooming Grove.
Carolyn was employed
at Navarro College for 20 years where she managed the bookstore, and
greatly enjoyed helping her employees and students. She was also a
member of St. John’s Episcopal for 50 years where she served in the
altar guild.
In her retirement
she worked at Altitude Trampoline Park, and she loved reading,
shopping, walking her dog, supporting Navarro College sports, and being
a beloved Nana to her granddaughters.
She is survived by
her daughter Holly and granddaughters Gabriella and Cameron; son Nick,
his wife Christina and granddaughter Isabella; niece Kendra and nephews
Chris and Ken.
She was preceded by
her parents, sister JoAnn, husband Jim Chapman, and granddaughter Sarah.
The family would
like to extend our deepest gratitude to the many caregivers at Heritage
Oaks and Avir New Braunfels that provided dignity and compassion in her
final years.

Texas, passed away on Dec. 21, 2009, in Kerrville.
He is survived by his wife, Emma "Kit"; son, Kenneth and wife, Alina,
of Colorado; and son, John of Delaware; along with two grandchildren.
He served six years in the Navy as a radio communicator. Most of his
career was spent at the Naval Electronic Laboratory in San Diego,
California. In 1973, he moved to Kerrville with his wife, Kit, after
spending 37 years in San Diego.
In 1978, he and his wife, Kit, founded the Unity Church of the Hill
Country, with the former Pastor Joan McKee and her husband, Don.
Private family services will be held at a later date.

Houston Delmon (Hootie) Duncan of San Antonio, formerly of Waco, died
Tuesday at a San Antonio Hospital. He was 78.
Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday in Mart Cemetery, the
Rev. John Clifford officiating.
Mr. Duncan was born Nov. 22, 1915, in Roxton. He married Mary Alice
Garrett on May 7, 1938, in Coolidge. He was a longtime paint salesman
and a Methodist.
Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Sharon Pike of San Antonio;
and his mother, Mamie Holladaugh of Corsicana.

on September 7, 2026, in Corsicana, Texas, at the age of 40. She was
born on May 17, 1986, in Pensacola, Florida, and lived a life marked by
kindness, creativity, and devotion to the people and causes she held
dear.
Vanessa was a
beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. She is
survived by her husband, Jordan Vance, and their children, Sophia Jo
Vance, Lillian Nell Vance, and Bruce Michael Vance, who were the light
of her life and the center of her heart. She also leaves behind her
brother, Jeffrey Dewayne Kesinger, her aunt and uncle, Debra and Gordon
Griffin, and many extended family members and friends who will forever
cherish her memory. She was preceded in death by her father, Bruce Alan
Kesinger, and her mother, Cathy Jo Massey.
Vanessa was a woman
whose love for her family was evident in everything she did. She
embraced her role as a wife and mother with steady devotion, warmth,
and grace. Her home was a place of care, laughter, and comfort, and
those who knew her best will remember the gentle way she nurtured those
around her. She was loving in spirit, kind in her actions, and creative
in the many ways she expressed herself throughout her life.
Her interests
reflected the thoughtful and compassionate person she was. Vanessa
found joy in photography, often appreciating the beauty in simple
moments and preserving memories that others could treasure for years to
come. She enjoyed reading books and valued the quiet reflection and
imagination that literature brought into her life. She also had a
special affection for wolves, admiring their strength, loyalty, and
spirit. Above all, she loved animals and carried that tenderness into
the way she cared for the world around her.
Vanessa's faith was
an important part of her life. As a Christian, she drew strength from
her beliefs and lived with a sense of hope, compassion, and purpose.
Her faith guided her through life's joys and challenges and shaped the
loving example she set for her family and friends. Those who shared her
journey will remember the sincerity of her heart and the steadiness of
her devotion.
She will be
remembered as a woman of deep love, quiet strength, and enduring
creativity. Vanessa had a way of making others feel valued and
understood, and her presence brought comfort to those fortunate enough
to know her. Her family and friends will carry forward the many

Gene McDowell, a devoted husband, father, grandfather,
great-grandfather, veteran, entrepreneur, cattleman, and a man who
lived a truly remarkable life, passed peacefully at his home on
September 1, 2026, surrounded by his children and grandchildren.
He
was born on October 10, 1934, in Del Rio, Texas and spent his life
building things-sometimes with his hands, often with an entrepreneur's
mind, but most importantly through the family and life he built
alongside his beloved wife, Bobbie.
He proudly served his
country in the United States Navy before attending Texas A&M
University in College Station, where he graduated in 1958 with a degree
in Electrical Engineering. His education launched a long and
accomplished professional career, one characterized by intelligence,
determination, keen business savvy, and his exceptionally high
aspirations to blaze his own trail, which followed him throughout his
life. Bob expected a great deal from himself, from the people who
worked for him, and-perhaps most of all-from his three children. His
expectations were high because Bob believed they could meet them. He
believed things should be done well, commitments should mean something,
and a person ought to make something worthwhile of the abilities he or
she had been given. He was an unmistakably strong-willed father and a
man of deep, private faith. Bob was a member of First Baptist Church of
Blooming Grove, and his faith was personal and quietly held.
For
all that Bob accomplished professionally, however, the life he
treasured most was the one he shared with, Bobbie. For 65 years they
built a marriage, raised three children, welcomed grandchildren and
great-grandchildren, and created a lifetime of memories together. After
her death, Bob missed her profoundly. His love for her remained as
strong in her absence as it had throughout their marriage, and his
faith gave him the assurance that their separation was only temporary.
Bob
was at home in the country, where he had cattle to check, dogs nearby,
family coming and going, and always something that needed his
attention. In his later years, those familiar things became especially
precious to him. Home was where Bob wanted to be, and home was where he
remained, surrounded by the family he had spent a lifetime loving,
teaching, challenging, and preparing to carry on without him.
Bob
and Bobbie's legacy of love and commitment will live on through their
three children -- Bryan McDowell and wife Janice of Frisco, Texas; son
Blane Scott McDowell and wife Barbara of Blooming Grove, Texas; and his
favorite (and only) daughter, Beverly Cox and husband Troy of Blooming
Grove, Texas, along with their grandchildren, Casey and Connor Zeptner,
Collin McDowell, Brandon McDowell, Travis McDowell, Shelby and Nelson
Brosang, Breanne and Christian Cortez, Bridget and Zach Neumann, and
Tory and Blake Casner. More blessings included great-grandchildren
Kaylee Brosang, William Cortez, Levi Brosang, Ruth Brosang, and Weston
Cortez.
He is preceded in death by the love of his life, Bobbie
Bryant McDowell, father, Rube Dodd McDowell, mother, Clara Tshirhart,
brother Dodd McDowell, along with his father- and mother-in-law, Robert
and Gertie Bryant.
He is survived by sister, Ina Dickenson and
husband Richard, brother-in-law, Jim Bryant and wife Linda, and
sister-in-law Carolyn Brewer.
After many years of loving Bobbie and missing her so dearly, Bob has
finally gone home to her. Together again!

August 1, 2026. She was born on September 26, 1947, in Marlin, Texas,
to Leslie Woodall Holdbrook and Cora Lee Williams Holdbrook.
Gayle made her home in Corsicana, but her true home was wherever her
family gathered. She held the people she loved close and looked out for
them fiercely and faithfully - family and friends alike knew they could
count on her. Her dogs were her constant and beloved companions, and
her happiest days were the ones spent surrounded by her children,
grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. The memories she leaves behind
are a lasting gift to them all.
Gayle was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Katherine
Holdbrook Clark and Shirley Holdbrook Sovey; her half-brothers, David,
Jack, Ted, and James Holdbrook Sr.; and the father of her daughters,
Ernie Linex.
She is survived by her daughters, Teresa Jones and husband, Tony, of
Corsicana, and Carla Hernandez and Jesus Chavarria, of Corsicana; her
grandchildren, Michael Jones, Ashley Jones, Jason Jones, Adolfo
Elizondo, Emily Vega, Cisco Vega, Erika Hernandez, Andrew Hernandez,
and Khloe Chavarria; her great-grandchildren, Zayden Vega, Turner
Jones, Reese Jones, and Grady Jones; and many loving nieces, nephews,
and friends.

Adeline Gerecht aka Bobbie was born Dec 21,1941 in Stamford,
Connecticut to Charles and Mary Gerecht she passed July 31,2026 @ The
Village Of Heritage Oaks in Corsicana Tx. She was an amazing Daughter,
Sister, Wife, Mom, Best Friend to anyone that knew her she had a smile
that was infectious she would help anyone anytime and never asked
anything in return. She Married Doyle McGahan June 2,1959 they were
married until his untimely death in 1997 out of that union there were 5
children born she was a devoted wife and mother her first born was born
prematurely Dr's said that child would never survive unless she made
sure the home was kept at a certain temperature at all times and
constant care she made it happen there were 4 more children born into
the family her children were her world family was everything to her.
She
worked several jobs from hanging sheetrock to owning and running her
own daycare to cooking at nursing homes and hospitals then also worked
as a cashier at Kroger but don't take her lightly she was quick whitted
and would tell you exactly what was on her mind she was feisty and she
will always be remembered for that if she said it was going to be a
certain way that was it.
Later she met and married Harry Rolfe
and they were together until her health failed and she was no longer
able to stay at home requiring round the clock care.
She was
preceded in death by her first husband Doyle Wadron McGahan, Parents
Charles & Mary Gerecht Brother Robert Gerecht, Sisters Virginia
Kiersey, Mary Harrison, Grandson Marvin Eugene McGahan.
She is
survived by husband Harry Rolfe of Spring Texas, Sons Doyle &
Michelle McGahan of Midlothian Tx, Marvin McGahan Daughters Debbie
& Brad Mishler, Lisa & William Weis all of Corsicana Tx, Linda
Scroggins of El Reno Ok ,Brothers Charles Gerecht Jr of Teague Tx,

 Mary Lucille Garcia
opened her eyes in Glory on July 27, 2026.
Lucille
was born on September 22, 1948, in Houston, Texas, to Billy Brack Rash
and Mary Belle Nichols Rash. She married the love of her life, Louis
Arnold Garcia, on February 8, 1964. She was a wonderful, devoted wife.
She was a loving, attentive mother to her four daughters. She enjoyed
sewing beautiful dresses for her girls. She was very creative in so
many ways. Lucille loved God. She chose to follow Christ at an early
age. She loved to study the Bible and learn more about Him and His
ways. She lived her life showing kindness to all. She was a room-mother
and Camp Fire Girls leader. Alongside her husband, she coached girls
softball for 25 years. She worked as a CNA and a Med-Aide in various
nursing homes. Her family knows her kindness the most. At every
opportunity she shared the Gospel with her family. She prayed for each
one earnestly and consistently. Many nights she went without sleep as
she was burdened in her heart to pray for her family.
Lucille
was preceded in death by her parents, Billy Brack Rash and Mary Belle
Nichols Rash; her brothers, Jeffrey Wayne Rash and Lonnie Earl Garcia;
her granddaughters, Grace Whistler and Olivia Spindle; and her great
grandsons, Wade Whistler and Shooter Banks.
She is survived by
her husband of 62 years, Louis A.Garcia. Daughters, Nancy and Mike
Whistler, Melissa and Mark Ivie, Vanessa and Erin Garcia, and Monica
and Chris Spindle; Fifteen grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren;
Sisters, Shirley and Johnny Goode, and Vicky and Scott Moore; Brother,
Billy Neal Rash. Sr.; Mother-in-law, Marie Garcia, and a number of
nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be held at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home in Corsicana,
Texas, on Friday, July 31, 2026, from 6-8pm.
Service
will be at Northside Baptist Church of Corsicana on Saturday, August 1,
2026, at 11:00am. Followed by graveside at Hamilton-Beamon.
Service will be officiated by grandson, Josh Whistler, and music by
grandson, Todd Whistler.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Drew Whistler, Isaac Whistler, Colton
Spindle, Lawton Spindle, Ellis Spindle, and Brett Spindle.

family of Kathy Jean Allen Rosselot of Corsicana, Texas is saddened to
announce her passing on July 23, 2026, at the age of 67 at her home
surrounded by her loving family. Kathy is survived by her daughter,
Tracy and husband Donald Lee Montgomery, son Dusty Rosselot and Taitum,
sister, Sharon Jennings, brother Tommy Allen Jr, and wife Cindy,
mother-in-law Wanda Allen. Grandchildren; Morgan, Jax, Westin, Willow,
Maddox, Leilah, Lexie, and Ex husband Carl Long, many extended family
members and friends and her little dog Jake.
She is proceeded in
death by her husband William Arlen Rosselot, parents Tommy Allen Sr and
Geraldine Allen, brother Robert Hollis, infant daughter Stacy Long, and
granddaughter Caytlyn Montgomery.
Kathy touched the lives of
many with her compassion, generosity, and unwavering care for those
around her. She had a wonderful sense of humor and had a special gift
to make everyone around her laugh with her quick- witted one- liners.
She worked as a medication aide at Twilight Nursing Home for twenty
years. Kathy spent her free time with her children and grandchildren
going for rides on the side by side to check on the animals. She
enjoyed riding around the neighborhood checking out any new projects.
Kathy loved to visit with her mother-in-law Wanda. She also loved to
play board games, especially Rummikub. While our hearts are heavy with
loss, we find comfort in knowing that Kathy is at peace, may her memory
be a blessing and may Gods love bring strength and comfort to all who
mourn her passing.
A warm thank you to Bristol Hospice for the support and compassionate
care.

Katherine Pritchett, age 86, of Corsicana, Texas, passed away
peacefully on August 9, 2026, at Twilight Nursing Home in Corsicana.
She was born on May 18, 1940, in Corsicana, Texas, to Pat and Martha
Horn.
Patricia was a loving wife, mother, grandmother,
great-grandmother, sister, and friend who devoted her life to her
family, her faith, and her community. She worked as a school cafeteria
lady at Mildred ISD for more than 20 years, where she became a familiar
and caring presence to generations of students and staff. She took
great pride in her work and enjoyed being a part of the school
community.
Music and her church were also an important part of
Patricia's life. She shared her love of music by playing the piano at
Hopewell Baptist Church and later at Angus Baptist Church, where she
continued playing until June of this year. Her dedication to her church
and her gift of music touched the lives of many throughout the years.
Patricia
loved going to watch her children, grandchildren, and
great-grandchildren participate in sports and other activities. She
could often be found in the stands cheering them on and supporting them
in everything they did. She even had her very own reserved chair at
Mildred Lane Gym, where she was a familiar and much-loved face.
Patricia
cherished her family above all else. She took great pride in watching
her family grow and treasured the countless memories they made
together. Her loving nature, gentle spirit, and unwavering support will
be deeply missed by everyone who knew and loved her.
She is
survived by her children, Kyle Pritchett and wife Linda, Teresa
Burnett, and Bob Pritchett and wife Robin; her brothers, Tommy Horn,
Gene Horn and wife Charlotte; her grandchildren, Jamey Pritchett, Wray
Moore, Michael Moore and wife Brandi, Kirk Pritchett and fiancée Misty,
Aaron Burnett and fiancée Samantha, Trevor Burnett, Drew Burnett and

Joshua Aaron Stanley
Jul 19, 1978 - Aug 6, 2026
 Joshua
will be remembered for his good heart, his unexpected sense of humor,
and the goofy, mischievous side of him that could appear when you least
expected it. His sister, Autumn, remembers playing Super Mario Bros.
with him as kids, when Joshua would convince her that jumping into a
hole would take her to a secret "warp world." It did not-it killed her
character and made it Joshua's turn, exactly as he intended.
Joshua
shared a particularly close bond with his mother, Jeanie, and their
relationship remained a constant throughout his life. He met his wife,
Monica, as a teenager, and together they built a family. Joshua raised
Jacobie and Gabriella from a young age, loved them as his own, and was
incredibly proud to be their dad. He shared an especially close
father-son bond with Jacobie and took great pride in the man he became.
Becoming a grandfather to Elijah and Darla brought another generation
into the family Joshua loved so much.
Joshua enjoyed scary
movies, watching his favorite old sitcoms over and over again, video
games, and Sunday football, especially when those Sundays were spent
with his nephew, Justin. As Justin grew older, Joshua became someone he
looked up to, sharing the lessons life had taught him, offering
encouragement, and often seeming to know what to say when it mattered.
Even during times when Joshua had difficulty keeping his own head up,
he could still help someone else hold theirs a little higher.
Joshua
is survived by his mother, Jeanie French; his wife, Monica Juarez
Stanley; his children, Jacobie Juarez and Gabriella, and their
families; his grandchildren, Elijah and Darla; his sister, Autumn
Shaver and her husband, Robert; and his nephew and niece, Justin and
Victoria Salyers.
He was preceded in death by his father, Don Stanley; his stepfather,
Chuck; and his older brother, Adrian.
Joshua's
life was not always an easy one, but his struggles did not define the
entirety of who he was. He was a son, husband, dad, grandfather,
brother, uncle, and friend. He was laughter and mischief, Sunday
football, familiar sitcoms, advice when someone needed it, and a
lifetime of memories belonging to the people who knew and loved him.
His struggles were a part of his life, but they were nowhere near the
whole story.

 John Frank Henderson,
82, of Corsicana, Texas, peacefully passed away on August 2, 2026,
surrounded by the love of his family.
Born
on September 27, 1943, in Corsicana, Texas, John F lived a life defined
by faith, hard work, service, and love for his family. He proudly
served his country in the United States Air Force from 1964 to 1968,
carrying the values of honor, integrity, and dedication with him
throughout his life. Following his military service, he built a
successful career as a welder with Oil City Iron Works, where he
faithfully worked until his retirement.
John F never met a
stranger. His warm smile, quick wit, and genuine kindness made everyone
feel welcome. If you asked him how he was doing, you could always count
on hearing his signature response: "I'm finer than frog hair!" He loved
making people laugh, telling stories, and teasing the people he loved
most. One of his favorite pastimes was affectionately calling his
beloved wife, Susie, "Nanny Goat," just to make her smile-or earn a
playful eye roll. Those simple moments became some of the family's most
treasured memories.
He found joy in the simple things in
life-hunting, fishing, farming, gardening, and spending time with
family. Whether he was working outdoors, sharing stories on the porch,
or simply enjoying the company of those he loved, John F lived with a
grateful heart and a generous spirit.
John F was also deeply
committed to serving both his country and his community. He was a proud
member of the Vietnam Veterans and served for many years on the Mildred
School Board. His willingness to serve reflected the kind of man he
was-someone who believed in giving back and making his community
stronger.
John F was preceded in death by the love of his life,
Susie Ann Henderson; his parents, William and Anna Geneva Henderson;
his sons, William Henderson and Mike Henderson; his grandson, Kevin
Wofford; and his sister, Betty Spencer.
He is survived by his
children: Brian Henderson; Kimberly Ruvalcaba (Salvador); Becky Jones
(Chris); Kaye Martin; Faye Alonzo; and Pam Aldama (David); and by his
beloved sisters, Judy Nelson (Wayne) and Glenda Beller.
He also
leaves behind his cherished grandchildren: Amanda Lansing (Bret); Casey
Henderson (Megan); Adam Zientek; Trae Henderson; Morgan Henderson
(Elizabeth); Justin Aldama (Megan); John Aldama (Haylie); Cadee Wofford
(Mitchell); Randy Alonzo; Connor Alonzo; Allison Alonzo; Logan Martin;
Landon Martin; Aaron Cantu; Mason Jones; Avery Cantu; Alyssa Dean
(Conner); and Macoy Jones.
He was also blessed with his
cherished great-grandchildren: Willow Lansing, Alex Lansing, Riley
Lansing, Aleeya Lansing, Zane Lansing, Henry Henderson, Hunter
Henderson, Bailey Heddins, Mia Guzman, Emberly Romero, Waylon Gordon,
Payton Gordon, Wyatt Harrison, Jackson Aldama, and Ryan Aldama.
To
know John F was to love him. He was a devoted husband, a proud veteran,
a hardworking provider, and the steady heart of his family. His gentle
spirit, infectious laughter, unwavering love, and playful sense of
humor touched countless lives. Although our hearts are broken by his
passing, we find comfort in knowing he has been reunited with the love
of his life and all those who went before him.
John F's legacy
will live on in the stories that will continue to be told, the values
he instilled, the lessons he taught, and the love he gave so freely. He

Duane Douglas Nutt

 Duane
Douglas Nutt age 92, of Corsicana, Texas, was called to his heavenly
home on August 14, 2026 surrounded by his loving family.
Duane
was born on September 6, 1933 in Corsicana, Texas to Fred and Beatrice
Nutt. He was a natural born leader and became an All State Quarterback,
where he graduated from Corsicana in 1949. He then attended Southern
Methodist University where he majored in Physical Education and minored
in English. While attending school, Duane received many accolades. Most
notably, being named All American Quarterback for the Mustangs in 1955.
After
college, he was drafted into the national football league by the
Philadelphia Eagles in the 1955 Draft. Instead, he was a leader of men
and served his country as lieutenant in the United States Air Force for
three years.
Duane married the love of his life, Davis Evelyn
Jones on Thursday evening July 14, 1955 in Rice, TX. They spent 71
years devoted to loving Jesus and each other. They were blessed with
four children during that time.
After 3 years in the military,
Duane chose to pursue a career as a coach, life motivator and gospel
spreader. He was an FCA leader and coached professionally at Grand
Prairie ISD, Sherman HS, and at Austin College in Sherman, Texas. He
was later inducted into the Austin College Hall of Honor.
In
1974 he worked for Folsom investments and later returned to teaching at
Armstrong middle school in Plano until he retired in Corsicana.
Duane
was heavily involved at Believer's Baptist Church in Corsicana. Many
counted on seeing him weekly for his constant encouragement and sweet
spirit. He greatly enjoyed his men's Bible study and playing dominos
with his friends.
Duane, or known to his grandkids and many
friends as "Patch", loved watching, listening to, and talking about
sports! He loved to dance, listen to good music, hunting, fishing, and
spending time with his family. Patch treated everyone like his family
and made sure anyone he loved left his presence feeling uplifted.
He
will especially be remembered for his ability to motivate and
encourage. He was incredibly kind and put Jesus, "Davie" and his family
as his top priorities. His impact on students, colleagues, peers and
family is immeasurable.
He often told people "do the right thing, cause it's the right thing to
do."
Duane
is survived by his wife Davis, currently residing at the Wesley House
in Bonham, TX; brother Jimmy Nutt of Huntsville, TX; son Kelly Nutt and
wife Lisa of Lone Star, TX; D'Anne Nutt Scott of Galveston, TX and
Denise Milford and husband Kyle of Denison, TX. He is survived by seven
grandchildren; Amanda Scott, Rendi Nutt and husband Karl Lundin; Jeff
Nutt and wife Randi; Hannah Varner and husband JoKyle; Hudson Milford
and wife Kyler; Avery Parker and husband Andrew; and Garrett Johnson.
Additionally, Patch's legacy is carried on by ten great grandchildren.
He
was preceded in death by his parents and daughter Dona Nutt. He is also
preceded in death by his sisters Sibyl Keating and Stella Persell.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday September 5, 2026 at 1pm
at Corley's Funeral Home in Corsicana, TX.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to
Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

Brenda (Ammons) Smithey

 Corsicana
- Born in Greensboro, North Carolina on October 6, 1939, Brenda's
childhood stories included tales about being raised in an era when men,
including her father, were returning from service following WWII.
Brenda's mother joined the multitude of women taking the jobs of
hard-working service men in their absence overseas, leaving Brenda to
be cared for by her grandmother.
A talented artist, she traveled
to Dallas to work for Olan Mills. It was there that she met her soon to
be husband, Ferrell Smithey. The two settled in Texas and began a
family on a ranch between Italy and Frost. Eventually, Brenda worked at
Tom's and Kmart distribution centers in Corsicana while raising a
family.
Well-spoken, witty, and intelligent, Brenda could carry
a conversation and enjoyed the company of many friends. She advised her
children to never let anyone "speak above you,"meaning that one should
always be courteous, respectful, and kind in both deeds and words.
Brenda
was perhaps best known for her good cooking. An avid reader, she read
cookbooks in her spare time, then claimed to never use them. She had
that knack for throwing things together to create meals without reading
a recipe. All the friends and relatives from Italy and the surrounding
area would always ask, "What's your mom cooking for supper tonight? Do
you think I could come?" Her cooking was so good that everyone was
always hoping for an invitation to the table.
If one did not
understand her, then they did not understand the era that she grew up
in. She appreciated what many now take for granted. She knew how to
look beneath the surface and qualify people for the honest attributes
they possessed and were willing to share.
Her perspective was
molded by a true appreciation of the God-given blessings bestowed upon
her and by the value of honest work. Lessons she left her children
included the ability to find something positive in any situation and
the tenet of not judging lest you be judged.
She was preceded in
death by husband, Ferrell Smithey, father, James Ammons, mother, Grace
Ammons, grandmother, Claudia Davis (AKA Gumdrops), and brother, Bruce
Ammons. She is survived by her, sons Michael and Jason Smithey,
daughter Robin Frank, seven grandchildren (April, Melissa, Trevor,
Austin, Travis, Emma, and Justin) and three great-granddaughters (Ava,
Wrenley, and Summer) as well as her caregiver and close friend, Pamela. |

Dan Sanders, 85, of Corsicana, Texas, passed away on August 19, 2026.
Gary
lived a full and meaningful life marked by service, hard work, and love
for his family. He married the love of his life, Kathy Ann Dickson, on
July 1, 1966, and together they shared many years of travel and
memories. Gary served his country as an Airman 1st Class in the U.S.
Air Force, a role he carried with pride throughout his life.
He
had a strong work ethic and a varied career, beginning as a medical
technologist and later working in insurance, real estate, security, and
as a sheriff's deputy jailer. Gary was also an entrepreneur who owned
his own business. Outside of work, he was a devoted fan of the
University of Texas Longhorns, loved singing and listening to gospel
music, enjoyed cooking-especially spicy food and had a passion for
collecting knives and guns.
Gary is survived by his wife, Kathy;

Texas - Alma Jean Reese, affectionately known as "Mamo," was born on
November 20, 1934, to R.T. and Minnie Smith. On Friday, August 29,
2026, she peacefully transitioned from this earthly life at the age of
91. She was a beloved daughter, wife, mother, grandmother,
great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend whose life was a beautiful
testament to faith, family, love, strength, and service.
At an
early age, Mother Reese accepted Christ and devoted her life to serving
God. She was later appointed as one of the mothers at Straight Way
Baptist Church, under the leadership of Pastor A. E. Smith. Her faith
was not simply something she professed, it was something she lived.
Through every season of her life, she remained a woman of prayer,
trusting God and encouraging those around her to do the same.
Mother
Reese was united in marriage to Ozell Reese, and together they shared
more than 40 years of marriage before his passing. Their union was
blessed with a loving family and a legacy that continues through
generations.
She was the proud and devoted mother of four
daughters: Linda Smith (Alvin), Valarie Cephus (Melvin), Machelle
Turner, and Shari Hicks. Her daughters were a tremendous source of
pride and joy, and her love for her family was evident in everything
she did. She was the kind of mother whose presence brought comfort,
whose words carried wisdom, and whose prayers covered her children and
grandchildren.
Mamo was a quiet force. She did not have to
demand attention to make an impact. Her strength was found in her
presence, her actions, her faith, and the way she quietly showed up for
the people she loved. She was a woman who believed in caring for others
and found joy in making sure those around her were cared for, loved,
and supported. Her heart was generous, and helping others was simply a
part of who she was.
Being a mother and grandmother was one of
Mamo's greatest sources of pride. She treasured her family and took
great joy in watching her children, grandchildren, and
great-grandchildren grow. She nurtured them with love, guided them with
wisdom, covered them in prayer, and celebrated their lives and
accomplishments. To her, family was not just something she had, it was
the greatest blessing of her life.
Mother Reese attended Texas
College in Tyler, Texas, and throughout her life she was committed to
working and serving others. She began her career at Jackson High School
and later dedicated 35 years of service to Corsicana State Home, where
she remained until her well-deserved retirement.
But beyond her
accomplishments and years of service, Mamo's greatest work was the love
she poured into her family and the lives of others. She nurtured,
encouraged, prayed for, and loved those around her with a love that
will never be forgotten. She was a source of wisdom and strength and a
steady presence in the lives of those she loved.
For those who
knew her, Mamo was more than a mother and grandmother, she was home.
Her love created a place where family could gather, memories could be
made, and generations could feel connected. Her quiet presence, her
prayers, her caring spirit, and even the little things that made her
uniquely Mamo will remain treasured memories for years to come.
Throughout
her 91 years, Mother Reese touched countless lives through her
kindness, strength, wisdom, and unwavering faith. She taught her family
the importance of loving one another, helping others, trusting God, and
never giving up. Her life demonstrated that you do not have to be loud
to be powerful, and you do not have to seek recognition to leave a
lasting impression.
Her family will forever cherish the lessons
she taught, the prayers she prayed, the sacrifices she made, the love
she gave, and the memories she created. Though we mourn her absence, we
celebrate the extraordinary life she lived and the legacy she leaves
behind.
Mother Reese leaves to cherish her precious memory nine
grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, a host of
great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear
friends. The generations she helped nurture will carry her love,
wisdom, faith, and legacy forward.
Though her earthly journey
has ended, her love will continue to live in every generation she
touched. Her legacy is not simply remembered, it is being lived through
her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and
great-great-grandchildren.
Mamo, you loved us, you cared for us,
you prayed for us, you taught us, and you gave us a legacy that will
never fade. You were our quiet strength, our covering, and our home. We
will carry your love in our hearts and your legacy through every
generation to come.

- Georgia Taylor Easley, 86, went in peace from this valley to the
mountain of God on Tuesday, September 1, 2026.
Born
March 9, 1940, in Navarro County, Texas, Georgia was the daughter of
Harvey Kimble Taylor and Elsie Mae Huddleston Taylor. She graduated
from Corsicana High School in 1958, was baptized into the Christian
faith, and was confirmed at Faith Lutheran Church in Plano, Texas, on
June 11, 1967.
Georgia married Darwin Wayne Easley on September
29, 1959. They were blessed with two daughters, Darla Jan and Belinda
Joan. Georgia enjoyed a thirty-five-year career with Collins Radio and
its successor companies, Rockwell International and Alcatel, ultimately
managing commercial real estate and facility operations.
She enjoyed reading, bowling, softball, classic television, travel, and
especially time with her children and grandchildren.
Georgia
was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Don L. Taylor; and
her daughter, Darla Jan Williams. She is survived by her husband,
Darwin Wayne Easley; daughter Belinda Joan Copus (Perry); sister Nellie
Richardson (Bobby); and grandchildren Peter Copus, Joshua Williams,
Zachary Copus, Caleb Copus, and Kara Williams.
She will be remembered for her determination, intelligence, hard work,
and deep love of family. |

Troy Lee Sykes

 On
the morning of Saturday, September 12, 2026, Troy Lee Sykes, age 79,
passed from this life into the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus
Christ.
A proud Vietnam veteran, Troy returned home in 1969 from
his service in the army to meet his first child, Rhonda Leigh, who was
just 11 months old. In 1972, while living in Fort Worth, he and his
wife Judy welcomed their second daughter, Robin Michelle Sykes. Troy
worked for several years installing signs and billboards before moving
his family back to Navarro County in 1979. There, they settled on seven
acres in the Dresden-Purdon area, while he owned and operated Sykes One
Stop at the fork of West 2nd Avenue.
When his father took over
the store, Troy went to work at Guardian Industries, where he rose to
the position of supervisor. During this time, he and Judy were blessed
with the birth of their son, Michael Shane, in 1981. After leaving
Guardian, Troy started a rural garbage service, which he, Judy, and
Shane built into a successful and dependable business serving their
community.
Troy answered the call to preach and faithfully
served as pastor of Brushy Prairie Baptist Church alongside his wife
Judy for several years until her passing in 2013.
Troy's biggest
desire and concern was for people to come to know Jesus and serve the
Lord. It has been a joy to watch Troy witness and testify to so many
people over the years. From total strangers on a bench, at a shopping
mall, to family and close friends. He always gave the glory to God.
Even in his final days he witnessed to all who he came into contact
with.
Troy was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Judy; his parents Leo
and Lorene Sykes; and his brother, Charley Ray Sykes.
Troy
loved his family deeply. He is survived by his daughter, Rhonda Leigh
Blackmon, and son-in-law, Jerry Blackmon, Jr.; granddaughter, Brittany
Grounds, and her husband, Lee Grounds; and great-granddaughters,
Leighton and Langston Grounds. He is also survived by his grandson,
Dylon Blackmon, and wife, Raegan; great-granddaughter, Stoneleigh; and
great-grandson, Brixton. He leaves behind his daughter, Robin Sykes;
his son, Shane Sykes and his fiancée, Tiffany; and grandchildren,
Carter Reece Sykes and Preslee Jade Sykes; and Madison Putman and Brody
Putman, who held a special place in Troy's heart.

Gerald Barham, age 86, passed away peacefully on August 31, 2026. He
was born on April 16, 1940, in Barry, Texas, to Loretta and Herman
Barham.
Lesslie was a devoted husband, father, grandfather,
brother, and friend. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years,
Melba Barham; his daughter, Shirley; numerous grandchildren; and many
nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will cherish his
memory. He was preceded in death by his son, Jerry Don Barham; four
brothers; and one sister.
Lesslie proudly dedicated many years
of his life to serving his country. He entered the United States Army
on November 24, 1958, and served in Korea before being honorably
discharged on October 31, 1964. In July of 1975, he continued his
military service by joining the Army National Guard. After 17 years of
service, Lesslie retired as a Master Sergeant on November 1, 1992. His
love for his nation and pride in his military service remained an
important part of who he was throughout his life.
Following his
military career, Lesslie worked in the Parts Department for various
Ford dealerships. He spent 15 years as the Parts Manager at Performance
Ford in Fairfield, Texas, before retiring in 2017. He was known for his
dedication to his work and the many people he came to know throughout
his career.
Lesslie loved his family dearly and treasured the
time he spent with them. He was also a faithful member of the Blooming
Grove Church of Christ. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing the
guitar and singing, sharing his love of music with those around him.
Lesslie
will be remembered for his love of country, devotion to his family,
faith, and the many years of service he gave to others. His memory will
live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
A memorial
service will be held on Monday, September 21, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. at
Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home, with Pastor Tim Cooke officiating. |

Zaccone, 78, passed away peacefully on July 10, 2026, in Burleson,
Texas.
Karl was born on April 27, 1948, in Jersey City, New Jersey, to Otto
Zaccone and Lucy June Hennig Zaccone.
In
June of 1971, Karl met the love of his life, Jo Ann Johnson. After only
their third date, he asked her to marry him, beginning a love story
that would last a lifetime. The couple was married on December 29,
1971, and shared nearly 55 wonderful years together filled with love,
laughter, and unwavering devotion.
Karl dedicated 30 years of
his career to Combustion Engineering/ABB, where he traveled the world
helping build power plants. He took great pride in his work and enjoyed
every opportunity to provide for his family before retiring.
Karl
embraced life with enthusiasm and generosity. He enjoyed playing golf,
watching sports, and spending hours learning through military history
documentaries. An exceptional Italian cook, he found great joy in
preparing meals, grilling, and entertaining family and friends. More
than anything, Karl treasured time spent with those he loved. He
delighted in spoiling his wife, daughter, grandchildren, siblings,
nieces, nephews, and his mother-in-law. Known for his generous spirit
and heart of gold, Karl's kindness and love touched everyone who knew
him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Otto and Lucy June
Zaccone; his brothers, Neil Zaccone and Paul Zaccone; his
mother-in-law, Lillian Pillans Fullerton; and his brothers-in-law,
Danny Territo and Thomas Dockery.
Karl leaves behind to cherish
his memory his beloved wife, Jo Ann Zaccone; his daughter, Lisa
Zaccone; his granddaughter, Savannah; his step-grandchildren, Ethan
Michael and Emma Michael; his sisters-in-law, Tricia Territo Dockery,
Connie Ivie and husband Mike; his brothers-in-law, David Johnson and
Kevin Fullerton; his nieces and nephews, Tina Territo Roughton and
husband Billy, Tami Territo Andrews and husband Clint, Leslie Johnson

Karl will be remembered for his
unwavering love for his family, his remarkable work ethic, his generous
heart, and the warmth he shared through every meal he prepared and
every moment he spent with those he loved. His legacy of love,
laughter, and selfless devotion will live on in the hearts of all who
were blessed to know him.

life will begin at 11:00 am Wednesday at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home
Chapel with burial to follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Pallbearers will be

James Rayford Wood

Rayford Wood, 80, of Westminster, South Carolina, passed away
peacefully in Corsicana on July 7, 2026, after a lengthy illness with
his family by his side. He was born on February 11, 1946, in Lavonia,
Georgia, to Thomas William Wood and Artie Mae Nix.
Rayford was a
hardworking man who spent much of his life doing what he loved. A
farmer at heart, he had a passion for tractors, gardening, and anything
that involved country living. He was a talented carpenter who built
trailers and enjoyed working with his hands. Whether he was attending
tractor pulls, livestock sales, or spending time at the racetrack,
James found joy in the simple pleasures of rural life. He was also an
avid NASCAR fan and never missed an opportunity to watch or attend a
race.
Above all, Rayford loved his family. He cherished every
opportunity to spend time with his children, grandchildren, and
great-grandchildren, creating memories that will be treasured for
generations. His strong work ethic, kind heart, and love for the
outdoors will be remembered by all who knew him.
Rayford is
survived by his daughters, Christine Blackerby and husband Will,
Jennifer Jones, Cathy Aragon, and Kenya Alvarez and husband David; his
siblings, Mildred Wood Turner and Preston Wood; 13 grandchildren; 20
great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family
members, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents,
Thomas William Wood and Artie Mae Nix; his son, James Wood, Jr.; and
his siblings, Roy, Elease, Jean, Ruth, Ruby Nell, Beatrice, Gatha, and
Edna.
James will be taken back to his home state for funeral
services and will be laid to rest in Lavonia, Georgia, the place where
his life's journey began. Visitation will be 10am Monday, July 13th at
Sandifer Funeral Home in Westminster, South Carolina with Funeral
Services following at 11:00am. He will be laid to rest in Lavonia,
Georgia at Franklin Memorial Garden.
Rayford will be remembered
for his love of farming, his dedication to his family, and the honest,
hardworking life he lived. His legacy will continue to live on in the
hearts of those who were blessed to know and love him.

Jennie
lived a full and joyful life centered around family and making memories
with those she loved. She enjoyed going out to eat, traveling, and
especially taking trips with Diamond Tours. She also loved fishing and
looked forward to family gatherings, never wanting to miss an
opportunity to be surrounded by those she loved. Jennie took pride in
her appearance and was always sure to keep her hair appointments,
enjoying looking her best wherever she went.
She is survived by
her children, Paulette Tipton and husband David, Mike Richardson and
wife Anele, and Tom Richardson and wife Lori.
She is also
survived by her grandchildren, Jennifer Miller and husband John, Jason
Tipton and wife Candy, Jeremy Tipton and wife Belinda, Elizabeth
Collier and husband Kevin, Hayden Richardson and wife Tiffany, Holly
Hollingsworth and husband Josh, and Kyle Richardson and wife Sasha;
numerous great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends who
will cherish her memory.
Jennie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, parents, and
siblings.

Maria
was a woman of strength, elegance, and unwavering love for her family.
Family-oriented to her core, she treasured every moment spent with her
children and grandchildren. She found joy in traveling, spending time
outdoors, shopping, cooking, tending to her beautiful garden, and
caring for her many plants. She was especially proud of her homemade
salsa, which won an award and became a favorite among family and
friends.
Known for her honesty and fearless spirit, Maria was
never afraid to speak her mind. She was fiercely independent, yet one
of the most caring and generous people you could ever meet. She would
gladly give the shirt off her back to help someone in need and often
placed the needs of others before her own. Her warm smile, kind heart,
and friendly nature made everyone feel welcome, and she leaves behind a
legacy of love, strength, and compassion.
Maria is survived by
her beloved children, Alberto Cruz and wife Teresa, Mariela Lara,
Monserrad Lara and husband Javier Castilleja, and Nydia Lara and
husband Peter Savage; her siblings, Silvia Barrera Avila, Yolanda
Villamil, Graciela Barrera Avila, Rosa Anzurez, Julio Barrera, Pola
Zamudio, Alma Barrera, and Patricia Barrera; and her cherished
grandchildren, Emily Castilleja, Aileen Cruz, Javier Castilleja Jr.,
Elena Castilleja, Ellieana Cruz, Ariana Cruz, Elias Castilleja, Sophie
Savage, and Jazmyn Cruz. She also leaves behind many extended family
members and dear friends who will forever cherish her memory.

Maria's strength,
generosity, and unconditional love for her family will continue to

 Hazel
Colleen (Smith) Dubose passed away July 6th peacefully surrounded by
her daughters at Heritage Oaks Nursing Home. She was born December 4,
1924, to Edward Chaffee Smith and Alta Frances (Cobb) Smith in Hominy,
OK. The family moved to Kilgore, TX when she was 5 yrs old where she
grew up and graduated from Kilgore High School in 1942. She moved to
Eureka, TX in 1948 where she raised her children, Charles, Karen and
Kathy. Colleen worked many years at Medical Arts Clinic, Memorial
Hospital and Navarro Regional Hospital. She worked very hard, working 2
jobs for many of her adult years and working the switchboard at Navarro
Regional up into her 80's.
Known as Nana to the grandkids and
many around the community, could be seen driving around town at a high
rate of speed. She attended grandchildren events and family functions
until her late 90's. Always the protector of the family she had to know
how and where everybody was. There was never a question of her love for
all of her family. Nana was truly an amazing woman cut from a different
mold and had a mind as sharp as a tack. She will be truly missed by
many.
Colleen was a Christian lady and knew where her home was;
she had long waited for her heavenly father to take her home. Greeting
her in heaven were her parents, son Charles Dubose and son-in-law Lynn
Bottoms. Colleen is survived by daughters, Karen Bottoms and Kathy Peek
and husband Blane; grandchildren, Jason Bottoms and wife Darla, Amy
Hill, Kelli Athas, and Chesley Belk and husband Adam. Great
grandchildren, Brendan Hopkins, Raeleigh Lang and husband David, Connor
Hill and wife Lauren, Andrew Hill, Preslie Bednarski, Colten Athas,
Kolt Bottoms, Reeves Belk, Brody Belk and Kessler Belk. Great great
grandchildren Brynlee Hill, Bradi Hill, Hazel Hill, Blaxelyn Hopkins,
DJ Lang and Marshall Lang.
The family would like to thank The
Village at Heritage Oaks for their care for our loved one. We also
would like to recognize Lyn Ferguson for always being there for our
mother and nana. Also, a very special thank you to Debbie Dillingham

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our precious baby boy,
Kyson Allen Dewayne Jordan, who was born sleeping on July 5, 2026 at
12:19pm.
Though his time with us was brief, Kyson's life was filled with love
from the very beginning. He was deeply cherished by his parents,
siblings, grandparents, family, and friends who eagerly awaited his
arrival. While we did not get the opportunity to watch him grow, he
will forever hold a place in our hearts and remain a part of our family
story.
Kyson was welcomed into Heaven by the loving arms of God and will
forever be remembered for the hope, joy, and love he brought to those
who knew of him. His tiny footprints have left an everlasting imprint
on our hearts.
He is survived by his loving parents, Leah Greene and Doreon Jordan,
sister Ja'Loni Warren, maternal grandparents, Bobby and Leeanne Greene
& paternal grandparents, Detrick and Vertis Jordan, his Honey and
Grumps,Daniel and Jennifer Combs, Godparents Stephen and Brittany
Melton, numerous aunts and uncles, and extended family who will carry
his memory with them always.
Although we mourn the loss of our sweet boy, we find comfort in knowing
that Kyson is at peace and surrounded by endless love. We will forever
treasure the dreams we held for him and the love we will always have
for him.

Ellington, 72, of Chatfield passed away from this life on July 5, 2026,
in Corsicana, Texas.
Pete,
known by many as "Bull' for his stubbornness, never met a stranger. He
could talk to a fence post and say the funniest, off the wall things.
He was a retired Battalion Chief of the Corsicana Fire Department where
he worked from 1984 to 2005. When not on shift he served as Fire Chief
of the Chatfield Volunteer Fire Department, where he volunteered for
over 50 years.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 51 years,
Cathy Ellington, sons John Ellington, Travis Ellington and wife Holly.
Daughter Charlotte Loper and husband Todd. Grandchildren Sheridan
Ellington and fiancé Phil, Zane, Reece, Macy, and Mary Ellington,
Kylee, Katie, and Jaxon Loper, brother Pat Ellington, and numerous
other nieces, nephews, family and friends.
He is preceded in
death by his loving parents, Ed and Mariella Ellington, in-laws Harvey
& Betty Coffey, sister Jeanie McCarty, sister in-laws Kathy
Ellington and Denise Coffey, and brother in-laws David and Danny Coffey.
Visitation
will be held Sunday, July 12, 2026, from 6-8pm at Griffin-Roughton
Funeral Home. A Celebration of Pete's life will be Monday, July 13,
2026, at 10am at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home, Followed by a burial at
the New Chatfield Cemetery.

 Connie Lynn Duwe,
59, of Corsicana, Texas, passed away on July 4, 2026.
Connie was born on June 29, 1967, in Chillicothe, Ohio. She was the
daughter of Ronald H. and Betty Duwe. She will always be remembered as
a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend
to all who knew and loved her.
Her children and grandchildren were the center of her world. She
cherished every moment spent with them and loved them beyond measure.
Connie also had a passion for crafting and dreamed of retiring one day
to start her own crafting business. She had an incredible eye for
decorating and paid attention to every detail, making everything she
touched beautiful.
Connie graduated from Corsicana High School with the Class of 1985,
where she was a proud member of the Blue and Gold Brigade dance team.
After graduation, she dedicated herself to raising her beautiful family
while building a career centered on serving others.
For many years, Connie worked in marketing and administration in the
nursing home and hospice industry. She devoted countless hours to
caring for residents and supporting their families during some of
life's most difficult moments. Her goal was always to ensure every
resident and family felt comfortable, cared for, and loved. She formed
lasting relationships with many residents, treating them as an
extension of her own family. Connie loved her work and gave it
everything she had.
Never one to stop learning, Connie returned to school and proudly
earned her Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences degree in May of 2017.
Although her time with us was far too short, the memories Connie leaves
behind are immeasurable. Her kindness, generosity, compassion, and
unwavering devotion to her family will continue to inspire everyone
fortunate enough to have known and loved her.
Connie is survived by her loving husband, Shannon Hargrove; her
daughter, Brittany Griffin of Seattle, WA, her daughter and son-in-law,
Kelli and Marco Jimenez of Mabank, Tx. and their children, Paisley,
Azzie, and Akilez; her son and daughter-in-law, TJ and Tiffany Griffin
of Corsicana, Tx. and their children, Elizabeth, Landen, and Kasen; her
daughter and son-in-law, Jamison Teague and Manuel Villegas of
Corsicana, Tx. and their daughter, Isabella.
She is also survived by her bonus children and their families Elizabeth
Hargrove of Midlothian, Tx. and her children, Deryk and Lexy; Nick and
Sarah Hargrove of Waxahachie, Tx. and their children, Nora, Ezra, and
Goldie; Zachary and Cynthia Hargrove of Waxahachie, Tx; Her Father, Ron
Duwe of Hawkins, Tx; brother and sister-in-law, Mike and Donna Duwe of
Hawkins, Tx; sister and brother-in-law, Michelle and Dwayne Douglas of
Sulphur, LA; Aunt Donna and David Parker of Gardner, KS; Along with
many cherished nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. She
also leaves behind her beloved fur babies, Lucy, Tito, and Sierra, who
brought her endless joy and companionship.
Connie was preceded in death by her mother, Betty Jane Duwe,
grandparents Earl and Marjorie Carmickle, Ronald N. and Paula Duwe.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 14 from 12:00pm to 1:00pm at
Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home. A memorial service to celebrate Connie's
life will be held immediately following at 1:00pm.
Family and friends are invited to come together to honor her memory,
celebrate her life, and share the love she so freely gave to everyone
around her.
Though Connie may no longer walk beside us, her love will forever live
on in the hearts of her family and friends. She will be deeply missed,
lovingly remembered, and never forgotten.

 Maureen
Barto, loving wife, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and
loyal friend, passed away peacefully at home on July 4, 2026,
surrounded by her family.
Maureen was born in Providence, Rhode
Island, on February 21, 1950, to Dr. Joseph McNally Sr. and Barbara
McNally. She was the second oldest of eight children. The family
ultimately settled in Corsicana, Texas, in 1963, where they lived just
outside of town on Sweetbriar Ranch. Her free spirit was cultivated by
all that ranch life had to offer and the freedom of the outdoors. It
was there that her lifelong fondness for animals, especially horses,
began.
Maureen graduated from St. John's High School in 1969 and
attended Navarro Junior College before continuing her education at East
Texas Nursing School in Tyler. In 1974, Maureen McNally married Bernard
"Bernie" Barto. After starting their family, she devoted herself to her
children, the church, and the community. Over the years, she served as
a sacristan and volunteered with the Altar Society, Meals on Wheels,
and the Humane Society. Maureen loved any reason to celebrate, but
above all, she will be remembered for her generosity, and giving spirit.

is survived by her husband, Bernie Barto, of Corsicana; her sons and
their families: Jason Barto and his wife, Kristy, and their children,
Ella and Luke, of Liberty Hill, Texas; Brendan Barto and his wife,
Corrie, and their children, Isabelle and Connor, of McKinney, Texas;
and Shayne and Susan Aytes and their daughter, Adriene, of Pocatello,
Idaho.
She is also survived by her siblings: Dr. Joe McNally Jr.
and his wife, Sandy, of Corsicana; Drs. Medford and Rosemary McCoy of
Dallas; Mark and Beth Scirto of Tyler; Jayne McNally of Corsicana; Mark
and Nancy McNally of Pennsylvania; John and Marlene McNally of
Waxahachie; and Joe and Robin Colvin of Oklahoma. She also leaves
behind numerous cherished nieces and nephews.
Maureen was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. Joseph McNally Sr. and wife Barbara.
Visitation
with the family will be held on Friday, July 17, from 5:00 to 6:00
p.m., followed by a Rosary at 6:00 p.m. at Griffin-Roughton Funeral
Home.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, July 18,
at 9:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Interment will
immediately follow.

Club, Texas - James Hampton, award-winning
actor/director/writer/producer and Hollywood funny-man, passed away at
his home in Trophy Club, Texas on April 7, 2021 from complications of
Parkinson's disease with his wife Mary at his side. In lieu of flowers,
the family requests that donations be made to The Michael J. Fox
Foundation for Parkinson's Research. Born in Oklahoma City and raised
in Dallas, James attended North Texas State College (now the University
of North Texas) where he was named Alumni of the Year in 1981. While at
NTSC, he majored in Speech and Drama and appeared in a number of
productions at the school. While in college, James served his country
as a member of the Naval Air Reserve and upon leaving for New York City
in 1959 was drafted into the Army: on April Fools Day! Upon his return
to Fort Worth after serving in Europe, he was encouraged by a professor
at NTSC to pursue a career in acting and to seek his first professional
job at Casa Manana. After appearing in a number of productions there,
he moved back to New York City in 1962. Shortly after arriving back in
New York, James landed the lead in a short subject film called One Plus
One (later named The Cliffdwellers) which was ultimately nominated for
an Academy Award. After the film's nomination, James was courted by the
prestigious Kohner Agency wanting to represent him. James conferred
with his good pal and college pledge brother, actor/singer Pat Boone,
who said "Gee, I wished they were my agents!". James quickly elected to
sign with The Kohner Agency and landed his first Hollywood acting role
on what was then the number one television show in the country,
Gunsmoke. In fact, he appeared twice more on the show and proceeded to
embark on an acting career that has lasted half a century. James
Hampton's career as an actor, writer and director spanned 50 years.
Along the way, he was nominated for a Golden Globe for his role as
"Caretaker" in the original version of The Longest Yard, and starred in
such memorable films as Sling Blade, Teen Wolf, Teen Wolf Too, China
Syndrome, Hawmps!, Condorman, Pump Up The Volume and Police Academy V
just to name a few. On television, he was the tone-deaf Bugler Hannibal
Dobbs on the classic 60's sitcom F Troop and appeared in hundreds of
T.V. show favorites like Who's The Boss?, Mama's Family, The Bob
Newhart Show and Western favorites such as Gunsmoke, The Guns of Will
Sonnet, and Rawhide. James was a favorite of Johnny Carson and became a
regular guest on The Tonight Show, with over 30 appearances. He also
worked as a writer/producer/director on Evening Shade, and was a
recurring director on numerous successful sitcoms such as Hearts of
Fire, Sister Sister, Smart Guy, The Tony Danza Show, Linc's, Boston
Common, and Grace Under Fire. When James decided to semi-retire in
2002, there was no question but that he would do so back in the Fort
Worth area with his wife, Mary spending time speaking to drama students
at colleges and high schools and participating in charity events and
celebrity golf tournaments to raise money for those in need as he had
for over 35 years. It came as no surprise that James continued to
receive fan mail from all over the world almost weekly. James's
autobiography, "What? And Give Up Show Business?" was published earlier
this year by Texas Christian University Press and was met with
wonderful reviews. It is available through Amazon, Barnes & Noble
and TCU Press. The family appreciates your love and support and asks

Andrea and Frank, and his grandchildren as well as legions of friends

 Cynthia Ann Scoggins, affectionately known to many as "Andy", passed away peacefully on October 6, 2026, at the age of 65.
Andy was from Ennis, texas and later made her home in Corsicana, Texas.
She will be remembered for her loving heart, beautiful soul, and the
joy she found in spending time with her family and friends. Family was
incredibly import to Andy, and some of her happiest moments were spent
surrounded by the people she loved. She leaves behind countless
memories that will be cherished forever.
Andy was preceded in death by her mother, Estelle; her father, George;
her sisters, Pamela, Georgia, and Lora; and her brother George "Bubba."
She is survived by her beloved husband of 30 years, Roger, her sister,
Linda; and her brother, Malcolm. She is also survived by her children:
Clemmie and his wife, Tiffany, of Corsicana; her daughter, Kayalyn, and
her husband, Brad, of Trinidad; and her sons, Daniel (DJ) and Isaac, of
Corsicana.
Andy is also survived by her grandchildren, Brionna, Clemmie, Caidyn,
Landon, Austin, Jack, and Nicholas, as well as many other family
members whom she loved deeply and cherished dearly.
A graveside service honoring Andy's life will be held on Tuesday
October 13, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Rose Hill Cemetery in Blooming
Grove, Texas.

Eddie Charles Mahone

 Eddie
Charles Mahone passed away on August 2, 2026. He was born on February
9,1936 to Truman and Gladys Mahone. He graduated from Blooming Grove
high school in 1954 and shortly thereafter joined the United States
Navy. He served as a ship mechanic from 1955 to 1958 where he proudly
did tours of duty in Hawaii, Japan, and Hong Kong. Upon completion of
his military service, he returned home and married the love of his
life, Patsy Putman on June 26, 1959. After marriage the two moved to
Dallas where he began a long-term welding career. They eventually moved
to Oak Cliff and had two children before moving to Duncanville in 1972.
Along with his
welding career Eddie enjoyed spending time on his small farm where he
raised horses and cattle. He eventually retired from Allied Services in
1997 and he and Patsy moved to Waxahachie.
During their
time in Duncanville, they joined Hillcrest Baptist Church when they
served and remained faithful members throughout their years. They truly
loved their church family.
After Patsy
retired they did a great deal of traveling with family and their very
close friends. Family summer vacations with his kids, grandkids and
great grandkids were very important to him. He loved his granddaughters
and was so very proud of the families they built. He loved spending
time with his great grandkids, watching their sporting events, having
them over to swim and watching Sunday afternoon Cowboy games together.
Spending time with family during holidays was also very special to him.
Eddie was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years Patsy Mahone and his son Monty Mahone who passed away earlier this year.
He is survived
by his daughter Lori Puente and husband Ernie; granddaughters Kristen
McAfee and husband, Andrew, Kelli Hall and husband, Jordan.; great
grandchildren Jaxson and Avery McAfee, Carson and Cooper Hall; Sister
Sherry Dicks; brother Danny Mahone and wife, Lynelle and many nieces
and nephews; best friends Willie and Vickie Williams, Brian Meister,
and Buck Holditch. We are so thankful and blessed to have had him as
our dad and grandad and will miss him forever.
The family
will receive friends from 10am-11am on Monday August 10, 2026 at
Hillcrest Baptist Church with service to follow at 11:00. Hillcrest

 Kimberly Kay Lippe, 62, of Frost, Texas, passed away on September 29, 2026.
Kim was born
on October 19, 1963, to Charles and Linda Lippe. She grew up in
Waxahachie, Texas, and later made her home in Frost, Texas.
Kim had a love
for travel and was fortunate to turn that passion into a career,
working for Reed & Mackay Corporate Travel. Her career allowed her
to combine her love of travel with the opportunity to experience new
places, make lasting memories, and pursue something she truly enjoyed.
Anyone who
knew Kim knew that when she loved something, she embraced it
wholeheartedly. She was a die-hard Dallas Mavericks fan and proud
season ticket holder who faithfully cheered on her team. She was also a
devoted Harry Potter superfan who delighted in its magical world and
stories. Kim loved playing board games, going out to eat with friends,
traveling, and, most of all, spending time with the people she loved.
Kim was the
beloved sister of Bryan and Jennifer, a loving aunt to Austin, Amanda,
and Hannah, and a proud great aunt to Autumn. Her family extended far
beyond those related to her by blood. Kim happily welcomed many others
into her life and loved them as family. Being "Aunt Kim" was about much
more than a family title. She had a remarkable way of making room in
her heart for others and making them feel as though they belonged. To
many, she simply was Aunt Kim, and she loved them as her own.
Kim was
preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Linda Lippe. She is
survived by her brother, Bryan; her sister, Jennifer; her nieces and
nephew, Austin, Amanda, and Hannah; her great-niece, Autumn; and the
many extended family members and friends who loved her dearly.
Kim will be
remembered for living enthusiastically, loving generously, and finding
joy in the people and things that mattered most to her. Whether she was
planning her next adventure, cheering on the Mavericks, enjoying the
world of Harry Potter, gathering around a board game, or sharing a meal
with friends, Kim brought her own unmistakable spirit to the moment.
Above all, she will be remembered for the love she gave so freely to
her family and friends and for the many people who were fortunate
enough to know her.

will be held on Saturday, October 10, 2026, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at
Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Funeral Home in Waxahachie, Texas.
