She was married in 1927 to Ben Jackson, who is deceased. She was then married in 1942 to Homer Anderson, who is deceased. She is survived by two daughters, Benni Jo McKay and Linda LaCour; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. William Roswell Stevenson STEVENSON, WILLIAM ROSWELL Retired from retail sales at Howard Brothers and owner of Rosemound Grocery, he died Friday, Feb. 18, 2000, at Lane Memorial Hospital, Zachary. He was 87, a resident of Zachary, former resident of St. Francisville and native of Frost, Texas. Visiting was at Charlet Funeral Home Inc., Zachary, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday. Visiting at the funeral home, 8:30 a.m. until religious services at 10 a.m. Monday, conducted by the Rev. Jesse Means. Interment in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Baker. (Leach) Lunden Norfolk Virginian Pilot, July 22, 1993 Beulah Mae Lunden, 85, of the 700 block of Lynch Lane in Virginia Beach, died July 21, 1993, in Chesapeake. Mrs. Lunden was born in Frost, Texas and was a homemaker. She was the widow of William J. Lunden and was a Protestant. Survivors include a daughter, Esther Kuykendall of Virginia Beach; a son, Robert Lunden of Nags Head, N.C.; three grandchildren, James Kuykendall, Jonathan Kuykendall and Dana Lunden; and three great-grandchildren. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Kellum Funeral Home, Bonney Road Chapel, by the Rev. Warren Wilson. Burial will be in Rosewood Memorial Park. Leon Prater Leon Prater, a retired connection foreman for Gulf Oil Co. in Buras, died Wednesday at Meadowcrest Hospital. He was 85. Mr. Prater was born in Frost, Texas, and lived in Marrero for the past 20 years. Survivors include his wife, Agnes Ruth Schmidt Prater; a son, Tanzley "Telou" L. Erris Jr.; two daughters, Bernita Prater Lowery and Juanita Prater Davis; a sister, Juanita Prater Stevenson of Brea, Calif.; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. A funeral will be held today at noon at Mothe Funeral Home, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Burial will be in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Notes:
Eugene H. Osborne Sep 5, 1946 - Jun 9, 2000 Eugene H. Osborne, 53, of Columbia died Friday, June 9, 2000, at his home. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 14, at Nilson Funeral Home with Trent Willenberg officiating. Burial will be in Columbia Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to time of services Wednesday at the funeral home. Mr. Osborne was born Sept. 5, 1946, in Corsicana, Texas, to John and Rachel Virginia Freeman Osborne. He married Peggy Ann Holt in September 1979 in Austin, Texas, and she survives. He attended Columbia College and was working toward a degree in social work. He was a member of the National Rifle Association and Ducks Unlimited. He had been employed as a mechanic for Como Tire. He was active in several Christian ministries. Survivors also include a daughter, Amanda Joy Osborne of Columbia; two stepdaughters, Tammy Lynn Doyel and Keri Danette Kehler, both of Flushing, Mich.; and six grandchildren. Lee 'Pidge' (Bell) Duke Laura 'Pidge' Bell Duke, 82, passed away Saturday, March 23, 2002. Memorial services will be held today at 6:30 p.m. at the John Ruhd home in Plano. Ms. Duke was born in Erick, Okla. on June 15, 1919. She moved to Dallas in 1938 where she met and married Sparton Steven Duke on June 15, 1940. Duke and Pidge lived in Corsicana from 1947 to 1958 where they were active in the community. The Duke family, now including two daughters Annabelle and Betty, moved to Dallas in 1958, where Laura pursued her passion for gardening, bridge and community service. Soon after her husband Steve passed away on April 3, 1970, Laura joined the staff of Norma Beasley at Safeco Land Title. She retired in 1981 to live in Plano. Laura remained active in her community and enjoyed going to plays with daughter Betty and playing bridge at the Senior Center. She was an elegant lady and role model for her family and friends who will remember her kindness and compassion. In addition to her great sense of humor, tremendous intellect, and genteel demeanor, Laura was an ardent sports fan and often read the sports page of the paper first. She is survived by her sister, Rosalia Carter of Weatherford; her daughters Annabelle Duke Masse and Dr. Betty Duke-Ruhd; son-in-law, Mark Ruhd; grandchildren, Marianne Spontarelli and Monica Spontarelli of Colorado, Michele Voelkening of Las Vegas, Michael Masse of Utah, Mark Masse of Washington state, and John Ruhd of Plano; great-grandchildren, Morgan, Kerri, Allison, Kyra, and Nadia. Mrs. Haufe was born Jan. 1, 1910 in Woodsfield, Ohio to Everett Alonzo Hunter and Mary Elizabeth Cree Hunter. She lived most of her life in Woodsfield, Ohio and West Virginia, moving to Corsicana in 1988 to live near her son and family to avoid the harsh winters in Ohio. She was a homemaker, and was well known at the local library as she was an avid reader and read a satchel full of books each week. Mrs. Haufe commented that for a small town, Corsicana had a very good library, and if it didn't have a book she requested, it would be obtained by inter-library loan. She is also remembered for her timely, well-written comments in letters to the editor, locally and in The Dallas Morning News; however, family members tell that she did this type of thing all her life. She wrote letters to whoever needed them, whether it was a candidate running for office or already in office, president, mayor, congressman, local businessman, doctor, news network or talk-show host. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, William L. Haufe of Akron, Ohio, who was a retired pressman for the Akron Beacon-Journal; one brother, two sisters, one granddaughter, and one grandson. Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Richard and Myrna Haufe of Corsicana, and William and Elinor Haufe of Akron, Ohio; daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca and Art Mitchell of New Philadelphia, Ohio; sister, Mildred Morgan of Akron, Ohio; seven grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Sidney (Wright) Blount Sidney Wright Blount, 95, passed away March 26, 2002 at Hamilton General Hospital in Hamilton. Charles Wallace officiating. Mrs. Blount was born May 3, 1906 in the Liberty Hill community in Navarro County. She married Floyd Blount in 1925 at Hubbard. After her marriage, she lived in San Antonio, Hubbard, Athens, Seguin, and Altus, Okla. She lived in Altus from 1949 to 1994 and was a member of Grace United Methodist Church. Her last years were in the Total Living Center in Hubbard and Forrest Ridge in Hamilton. She was an accomplished writer and had published a book on Sampson Stewart and many magazine articles. At one time she was the Altus, Okla. reporter for the Wichita Falls newspaper. She was president of the Southwest Oklahoma Penwomen in Altus, and held many offices in the DAR. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1970; parents, Daws and Nellie Dove Wright of Hubbard; sisters, Myrl Lawrence, Mary Bennett, JoAnna Soupiset, and Alice McNeil; and brother, Robert Wright. Haskell Bennett, 86, of Arlington died Nov. 22, 1992 in Arlington.
Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Corley Funeral Chapel with the Revs. William Dollar and Donald Sawyer officiating. Burial will be in Hamilton-Beeman Cemetery in Retreat.
He was a member of the Cedar Creek Missionary Baptist Church. He was raised around the Pursley area most of his life, leaving in 1965 to Arlington where he was a maintenance mechanic for the Arlington Independent School district until 1975 when he retired. For the past 11 years he worked as a school crossing guard.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Willie Mae Bennett.
Survivors include, one daughter and son-in-law, Wilene and Dean Murray of Arlington; one granddaughter, Cindy Francis of Arlington, one grandson; Cory Murray of Burleson; one Granddaughter in law, Dana Murray of Burleson; and two great-granddaughters, Sara Francis and Rachel Francis, both of Arlington
Pallbearers will be Cory Murray, Joe Francis, James Britton, Franklin Neal, Herman Ganze, & Troy Bennett Jr.

Aubry Calvin Hubbard, 63, of Arlington, died Aug. 17, 1993, the Arlington Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday in the Wade Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Herry Graves officiating. Burial will be in the Dawson Cemetery under the direction of Wade Funeral Home in Hubbard.
He has been a resident of Arlington since 1952 and was a former resident of Dawson. He was a retired employee of the Arlington Independent School District’s Maintenance Department. He also was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Hubbard of Arlington; one daughter, Angela Adams, of Arlington; and his mother, Willie Hubbard of Corsicana.

Service will be 11 a.m. Monday at Corley Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Don Fuller officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
She was born Jan. 26, 1921 in Red Oak.
Survivors include two daughters, Helen Wynn of Mesquite and Barbara Atkeisson of Corsicana; one son, Kenneth Moore of Corsicana; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Bo Britton, Ronnie Stringer, Lonnie Stringer, Glynn Stringer and Fred Watson.

Survivors include her husband, James Thompson of Corsicana.

Saturday, July 10, 1999, in Pleasant Hill, Calif.

Arnold A. Honea was born Aug. 9, 1924, in Emmett and grew up in Frost. He served in the Army Air Forces during World War II and dedicated 25 years of service to Bell Helicopter.

Arnold A. Honea
Services for Arnold A. Honea, a retired mechanic for Bell Helicopter, will
be at 10 a.m. Friday at Meadow Lane Baptist Church.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Arlington Funeral
Home. Burial will be at the Moore Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Honea died Saturday in Pleasant Hill, Calif. He was 74.
Born Aug. 9, 1924, in Emmett, Texas , Mr. Honea grew up in Frost, Texas . He
served in the U.S. Army Air Corps in World War II and worked for 25 years
for Bell Helicopter.
Survivors include his daughters, Margaret Womack of Concord, Calif., and
Anita Maynard of Dandridge, Tenn.; his brothers, Jake Honea of Waxahachie,
Maurice Honea of Irving and Bob Honea of Dallas; and three grandchildren.

ARLINGTON - Georgie M. Honea, a retired schoolteacher, died Sunday at an Arlington hospital. She was 61.
Funeral
will be at 2 p.m. today at Meadow Lane Baptist Church, where she was a
member. Burial will be in Moore Memorial Gardens in Arlington.
Arlington Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Honea was
born in Fort Worth and grew up in Waco. She attended Sacred Heart
Academy in Waco and was a 1950 graduate of Baylor University. She
taught elementary school in Frost. She moved to Arlington in 1965 and
had taught kindergarten at Meadow Lane Baptist Church.
Survivors:
Husband, Arnold Honea of Arlington; two daughters, Margaret Womack of
Stockton, Calif., and Anita Honea of Midland; and two grandchildren.
