Herman Calvin Marr
June 3, 1943 - Jan. 29,
2026
Herman
C. Marr, beloved husband, father, grandfather, rancher, and lifelong
storyteller, passed away surrounded by the love he gave so freely.
Herman was born on June 3, 1943, to James Clyde Marr and Julia Barlow
Marr, the baby of seven children-and he never lost that youngest-child
spark.
As a boy, Herman had a hard time sitting still in school.
The outdoors called his name louder than any classroom ever could. And
in true Herman fashion, he always had a story (and a solution). He
would proudly tell folks he was smart enough to drive to
Wilmer-Hutchins and buy a diploma from a man-a line that never failed
to get a laugh.
In 1962, he married the love of his life, Sandra
Ann Andrews Marr. Together they built a life rooted in hard work,
devotion, and family. For 64 years, Herman was a faithful husband and a
steady provider, the kind of man who showed love through showing up-day
after day, year after year.
Herman loved sports from the start.
He played baseball and football as a young man, and that passion turned
into years of coaching. He coached his nephews, Mark and Matt, at the
YMCA, and later coached all his daughters in softball. He rarely missed
a game for his grandchildren and was famous for his "coaching from the
bench"-equal parts cheerleader, strategist, and proud grandaddy.
A
hard worker from his teenage years, Herman started out as a Manor Bread
delivery man, collecting stories he told for the rest of his
life-including the day a lady came to the door naked, after which he
decided it was best to toss her bread from the street from then on.
Herman
began his longtime career at the Chattanooga Glass plant at just 20
years old, sweeping floors and working his way up to Hot End
Supervisor. It was the "hottest job in town" and he was an expert
glassman who made "more Coke bottles than you can count," and he took
real pride in doing a job well. He retired at 57 and stepped fully into
the life he'd been building since the 1970s: ranching. He studied it,
read about it, lived it-and became an expert cattleman.
He was a
man of many hats: an avid hunter and fisherman in his younger years, an
expert marksman who won trophies for his shooting skills, a gardener
always trying a new tomato variety or planting another fruit tree,
and-at least for a time-a beekeeper…until he got stung one too many
times.
If you knew Herman, you knew he loved a good deal and
could trade just about anything. He listened faithfully to "Talk Time"
on KAND radio-and he wasn't shy about what he thought when it went off
the air. Herman's "horse-trading" skills were legendary. He left this
earth still owning every truck he ever had…plus a few others. And if
you drove down Roane Road, you probably saw the "truck graveyard" he
collected over a lifetime of plans, parts, and possibilities. He
believed he owned that road and if you got behind him, you better not
be in a hurry or late to work.
One of Herman's greatest passions
was the Navarro County Youth Expo, a love that started in his own youth
and lasted a lifetime. He showed animals, learned the barns, and later
poured himself into helping his daughters succeed. In 1978, he coached
them to Grand and Reserve Champion Lambs-a proud chapter in a story he
kept chasing for more than 50 years. He shared his knowledge freely,
especially about sheep, and became known around the Youth Expo barn as
someone who would help you if you asked-and often even if you didn't.
This
year would have been his last Youth Expo run with Brooklyn, his baby
granddaughter, in her senior year. His family believes he'll be
cheering her on from Heaven.
Herman was preceded in death by his
parents; his brothers, James, Aubrey, Lawrence, Donald, and Charles;
and his sister, Linda Marr Allred.
He is survived by his loving
wife, Sandra Andrews Marr; his daughters Robin Marr & Deborah
Ellis, Julie Marr Teel and husband John, and Rachel Marr Tidwell and
husband Darrell; and six grandchildren: Hope Teel Colt and husband Sam,
Kelsey Teel Hassell and husband Benji, John Parker Teel and wife
Kathleen, Delaney Sloane, Kaylee Anne, and Brooklyn Sawyer Tidwell. He
is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends
who loved him dearly.
Herman was a funny man, a hardworking man,
and a family man through and through. His life was full of stories,
grit, and love-and the kind of legacy you can still see in the land he
worked, the people he raised, and the young showmen he helped along the
way.

William Rufus "Billy" Beaird
Nov 21, 1946 - Feb 5, 2026
Billy
Beaird and his beloved wife, Carolyn Beaird, of Corsicana, Texas,
passed away on February 5, 2026. United in life by unwavering devotion
and love, they leave behind a legacy rooted in family, generosity,
laughter, and steadfast commitment to their family.
Billy Beaird
was known throughout Corsicana as the "Dr. Pepper man," a title he
carried proudly for more than 45 years. For over four decades, he
faithfully operated the local domino hall, where his presence became a
constant source of fellowship and friendship. At home, Billy was the
heart of his family - a man whose humor was effortless and contagious,
and whose greatest joy came from caring for those he loved. He was his
wife Carolyn's biggest fan and took his annual role as the official
taste tester of her Thanksgiving dressing very seriously. Billy lived a
life of service, always ready to offer a meal, a place to stay, or a
helping hand to anyone in need. He watched over his family in quiet,
meaningful ways - even making a habit of checking his daughter's gas
tank to ensure she was taken care of. Though known professionally
throughout the community, his proudest titles were personal: devoted
husband, proud father, and an even prouder grandfather. Nothing
mattered more to him than his family.
Mrs. Carolyn Beaird was
the embodiment of warmth, strength, and unwavering love. An incredible
mother and grandmother, she considered her family her greatest
accomplishment and deepest joy. Carolyn's most cherished role in life
was being a mother and devoted grandmother; there was better to her
than her children and grandchildren. Her husband Billy was the love of
her life, and together they built a home filled with laughter,
kindness, and steadfast devotion. Carolyn's beautiful soul and
boundless generosity touched all who knew her, she often cared for
family members who were battling terminal illnesses. Her radiant smile
could light up any room, but it was her fierce loyalty and
compassionate heart that truly defined her. She found joy in life's
simple pleasures and loved discovering hidden treasures, yet her
kitchen remained the center of her world. She was cherished for her
famous Mississippi mud cake, Thanksgiving dressing, chocolate gravy,
and chicken enchiladas - dishes that brought family together and
created lasting memories. Family gatherings will never taste quite the
same without her special touch, and she will be remembered most for the
way she loved: fiercely, selflessly, and without boundaries.
Together,
Billy and Carolyn shared a remarkable love story - one defined by
partnership, laughter, faith in one another, and a deep devotion to
family and community. Their lives were a testament to kindness,
hospitality, and enduring love, leaving an imprint on all who had the
privilege of knowing them.

centerpiece of Bobbie's life. She was a loving mother to Sandra,
Johnnie, and Linda, but her favorite role was grandmother to Lydia,
Johnathan, Kayla, Erin, Matthew, and Hannah. She enjoyed taking the
whole family to the beach for vacation each year and often joked that
she was made for a life of leisure and not hard work. She loved flowers
and gardening. She also loved to shop and often took family members on
shopping sprees with Johnnie's money. She was full of laughter and
songs and always serenaded the children with "You Are My Sunshine" and
"Dance-a-ma-doodly".
While living in England, Bobbie came to
know the Lord and her faith became the foundation of her heart of
service. She could never turn away anyone who she felt needed her help,
and she often took in people who needed support and guidance. She was
generous with her time and effort in serving others. Throughout her
adult life, she served in leadership in children's ministry, and then
as she got older, she began to teach and disciple adults. She also
served in nursing home and prison ministry. Ultimately, she became an
ordained minister, and pastored Lighthouse of Praise.
Bobbie is
preceded in death by her parents, siblings, and son, Johnnie Nolan. She
is survived by her husband, Johnnie, her daughters Sandra and husband
Lester, Linda, and daughter-in-law, Kim as well as her grandchildren
Lydia, Johnathan and wife Katie, Kayla, Erin and husband Taylor,
Matthew and fiancée Bree, and Hannah, and great-grandchildren Poppy and
Audrey. Her family members would like to send specific thanks to the
staff of Legacy at Corsicana and Arc Hospice for the excellent care and
compassion they showed to Bobbie in her later years. We wish also to
remember the legacy of love, faith, laughter, and integrity that Bobbie
leaves behind. |

Jay Richard Blount
Jul 9, 1947 - Jan 25, 2026
Jay Richard
Blount, A man of profound strength and unwavering faith, completed his
earthly journey at home surrounded by family on January 25, 2026, in
Barry, Texas. Born on July 9, 1947, in Corry, Pennsylvania. Jay's early
life was a testament to the power of love and wisdom of God working on
the family's dairy farm with his brothers.
After graduating from high school, he answered the call of duty,
serving with honor in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.
His military service was not merely a period of his life; it was a
defining experience that shaped his character and values. Upon
returning to civilian life, he found purpose in working on oil rigs,
horse ranches, and helping his local community with his construction
knowledge and ability.
Jay's passion for the outdoors, reading, and the Bible became the
cornerstones of his life. Jay's love for the wilderness was not just a
hobby but a sanctuary where he felt closest to the Creator he so loved.
His faith was his compass, leading him through life's storms with an
unwavering belief in the goodness of God's plan.
Family was the heart of Jay's world. He was the loving and sometimes
cantankerous brother to Hal, Kim, Dru, and Tod. His daughter, Alise
Blount, was the pride of his life. Through Alise, the joy of
grandfatherhood blessed him with the laughter and wonder of his
grandchildren: River, Cadence, Remington, and Genesis. His numerous
nieces and nephews also held a special place in his heart.
Today, as we remember Jay Blount, let us not dwell on the sorrow of his
departure but celebrate the incredible journey of a man who walked this
earth with purpose. Let his life be a reminder that each day is a gift
to be used in service to others, to pursue our passions, and to live
inaccordance with our faith. |

Carolyn Ann (Marshall) Beaird
Apr 14, 1951 - Feb 5, 2026
Carolyn
Beaird and her beloved husband, Billy Beaird, of Corsicana, Texas,
passed away on February 5, 2026.
For over four decades, he
faithfully operated the local domino hall, where his presence became a
constant source of fellowship and riendship. At home, Billy was the
heart of his family - a man whose humor was effortless and contagious,
and whose greatest joy came from caring for those he loved. He was his
wife Carolyn's biggest fan and took his annual role as the official
taste tester of her Thanksgiving dressing very seriously. Billy lived a
life of service, always ready to offer a meal, a place to stay, or a
helping
hand to anyone in need. He watched over his family in quiet, meaningful
ways - even making a habit of checking his aughter's gas tank to ensure
she was taken care of. Though known professionally throughout the
community, his proudest titles were personal: devoted husband, proud
father, and an even prouder grandfather. Nothing mattered more to him
than his family.
Mrs. Carolyn Beaird was the embodiment of
warmth, strength, and unwavering love. An incredible mother and
grandmother, she onsidered her family her greatest accomplishment and
deepest joy. Carolyn's most cherished role in life was being a mother
and devoted grandmother; there was better to her than her children and
grandchildren. Her husband Billy was the love of her life, and together
they built a home filled with laughter, kindness, and steadfast
devotion. Carolyn's beautiful soul and boundless generosity touched all
who knew her, she often cared for family members who were battling
terminal illnesses. Her radiant smile
could light up any room, but
it was her fierce loyalty and compassionate heart that truly defined
her. She found joy in life's simple pleasures and loved discovering
hidden treasures, yet her kitchen remained the center of her world. She
was cherished for her famous Mississippi mud cake, Thanksgiving
dressing, chocolate gravy, and chicken enchiladas - dishes that brought
family together and created lasting memories. Family gatherings will
never taste quite the same without her special touch, and she will be
remembered most for the way she loved: fiercely, selflessly, and
without boundaries.
Together, Billy and Carolyn shared a
remarkable love story - one defined by partnership, laughter, faith in
one another, and a deep devotion to family and community. Their lives
were a testament to kindness, hospitality, and enduring love, leaving
an imprint on all who had the privilege of knowing them.

it was a way for him to enjoy the freedom of the open road and the
companionship of his fellow riders.
An avid fisherman, Edward
found solace and joy in the quiet moments by the water. His ability to
sit patiently for hours, waiting for a catch, was a metaphor for the
way he lived his life-calmly weathering storms and reeling in the
beauty of the world around him.
Edward's kindness was not just a
trait but a way of life. He was always there for people, offering a
helping hand or a listening ear to anyone in need. His presence was a
comfort to those who knew him, and his absence will leave a void that
cannot be filled.
Above all, Edward loved his family. He was a
husband who cherished his wife, a father who supported and guided his
children, and a grandfather who adored his grandchildren. The legacy he
leaves is one of love, kindness, and generosity-a legacy that will live
on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him.
Edward's
life was a beautiful journey that touched countless souls. He will be
remembered for his unwavering kindness, his generous heart, and the
love he poured into every relationship. Edward White's memory will
forever be a light in the lives of his family and friends.

Lida Renea (McMichael)
Robertson
Feb. 18, 1960 - Feb. 20,
2026
Lida
Renea Robertson of Corsicana Texas was born February 18th, 1960, she
gained her angel wings February 20th, 2026. She is preceded in death by
both parents James Willard McMichael and Jeanie Minchew McMichael,
grandson Brandon Heith Robertson jr., and husband Floyd Bartley
Robertson. She was born in Houston Texas.
Lida is survived by
her 3 sons Jason Robertson, Bucky Robertson, Brandon Robertson,
Daughter Kristen and son in law Gabriel Alvarado, daughter Summer
Robertson and son in law Troy Robertson, grandson Gabriel Alvarado jr.
and Wife Dariana, randdaughters Hannah Robertson, and Haleigh
Robertson: grandsons Bo Dylan Alvarado, and Heith Robertson. Great
grandchildren Kinsley Paige Allen Robertson, Kayden Lane Robertson,
Paizlyn McKamey Robertson and Mateo Alvarado. Her brother James, wife
Dee and family and so many numerous family members and friends that
would be a few miles long to list!
Lida was truly one of a Kind,
a spitfire nonetheless, spunky, outgoing, smart, beautiful, strong, she
worked hard and loved eing the vice President of Texas patrol. Her
lifelong dream was to be a care flight pilot; she landed care flight
earned her gold wings and was pursuing on with school in 1998 the year
I was born. To top that she loved being a mother, Granny and NanaMa.
Those 3 words are her greatest accomplishments and to watch her talk
about her family her eyes glistened and her whole body beamed with love
for us. She took pride in knowing that her husband would be proud for
pushing on through all the years without him and all the trials and
triumphs we managed to get through as a family. She wanted us to remain
strong and not lose ourselves and leave each other. But a family like
ours, we will get through this we always find ways to, might not be
today or tomorrow. But we will be able to cope, emotions will come in
waves, losing someone this special doesn't get easier, we are going to
have to remember who she was a how she was and pursue on with it.
Holidays and birthdays and life live it how granny would live it, but
knowing that she is no longer in pain, free of sickness, free of
burdens, Free with big, beautiful angel wings with the love of her life.
Lida
loved her family, her eyes twinkled every time she bragged about them
to people, we know and strangers. She is the heart and soul of our
family. The love she gave was unconditional, consistent, pure and full
of emotions. To be loved by her and to know her you were one lucky
person. She loved her grandchildren with every beat of her heart. Any
of us were lucky to have a mom, granny and NanaMa like her. She would
give her life to make sure we were taken care of, and she did better
than any
woman or person I know. My pawpaw passed away and she
continued to live on and push on raising her grand kids and being the
best mom and granny to all of us she could be. in all of our eyes she
exceeded that. I am glad I grew up and started my family, and she was
able to be a part of my family growing. She was there in hospital
rooms, dr appointments, field trips, school ctivities, sports, all of
our births and my children's births, birthdays and holidays were always
top tier and one of a kind. She never missed a beat with being the best
she could no matter how she felt she always did 360 circles around all
of us, and we are the younger ones. I am honored to be named after her
and honored to have picked a middle name with my beautiful granny for
my last baby Mac. My babies will never forget you, our babies will
never forget you, your name and memories will always be shared every
day of the rest of our lives.
She always stayed active, a part
of everything and loved being outside and she loved her plants and her
bonus daughter Patsy Lynn , she was in her own words "her bestest
friend in the whole world" She could throw down in a kitchen from her
famous mashed potatoes, homemade Frito pies, homemade chocolate pies ,
her famous banana nut bread/cakes all the way down to her home cooked
meals. Every meal she made was made with her love. To know her was to
love her, a stranger was never the case she treated everyone with
respect and love and taught all of us to do the same. All of my friends
growing up knew her as granny she was everyone's granny she included
everyone in everything and the love was astonishing. The best part of
my life was having her and my pawpaw raise me, if it wasn't for them, I
don't know where I'd be. But God am I grateful to have gotten to have
the best mom in the world and she's been more than I could ever hope
and pray for as a NanaMa to my kids. She is the grandest and greatest
of them all. Today maybe excruciating on all our hearts because today
is one of the worse days to come for someone that is the
Life of the family, the glue, the structure, the unconditional love no
matter if we did right or wrong.
I
hold rejoice, love, and happiness and relief that our dad/papa was
waiting to grab her hand to walk side by side again in their eternal
home no longer in pain and all the love to be made up until we meet
again. Heaven gained the greatest woman I've come to meet in my 27
years of life, and I am so grateful to have had her by my side my whole
life and I know when the wind blows and flowers sparkle and butterflies
flutter, she is near. I know that she will be with us throughout the
rest of our lives because someone that wonderful don't just disappear.
Her wise, kind, nurturing, and blunt words will stay locked in our heads
and
all the beautiful memories we shared throughout life with her will
never disappear. I look at all of you and she is in each one of you.
Honor her by her love and patience, and what would granny do in this
situation? Keep her memory going, don't stop what she would have done,
don't stop loving and living she sure didn't. She made each day count
she started early in the mornings and went until late at night. She
wouldn't want us to drown. Put your big boy pants on buttercup, and
let's all make her proud and keep her memory alive. She wouldn't miss a
beat, so we aren't.
Pall Bearers are Jason Robertson, Bucky
Robertson, Brandon Robertson, Heith Robertson, Troy Robertson, Kayden
Robertson, and Gabriel Alvarado Jr. Honorary Pall Bearer is Mateo

Yesenia Montes
May 22, 1966 - Dec. 7,
2025
A Woman of Faith,
Love & Unshakable Strength
With
deepest love, we honor the life of Yesenia Montes, a woman whose heart,
faith, and spirit formed the very foundation of our family. She was a
strong believer, a loving mother, a devoted wife to Javier, and the
guiding light for her children - Laura, Griselda, Yesenia, Thomas, and
Arlene - and for the eleven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and
future grandchildren who will come to know her through the love and
stories we carry.
Mom loved God with her whole heart. She loved
church, she loved worship, and she lived her faith in everything she
did. She prayed quietly, constantly, and with purpose. She was our
silent warrior - the one who went to battle for us through prayer.
Whenever we needed her, her first words were, "I'll pray for you."
Because
of her, we grew up knowing that when life got hard, even if we didn't
pray ourselves, God was still hearing us through her voice. She carried
us in her prayers every morning, every night, and every time she
thought of us. There is no doubt in our hearts that her prayers were
the strength behind this family.
Mom gave us a childhood full of
love, comfort, and warmth. She showed us that wealth isn't about
possessions - it's about love, faith, laughter, and togetherness. With
her, we always felt like we had everything. We truly felt like the most
blessed family in the world because we had her.
She was full of
life, full of laughter, full of energy. She loved everything from spicy
food, to making morning breakfasts, creating special little traditions
that now feel like treasures. Mom had hobbies that were pure "her" -
tambourines when we were young. She was crafty, sentimental,
adventurous and creative. If something had meaning, she saved it.
Mom
loved gatherings, she loved hearing stories, giving advice, and
comforting others with words that seemed to come straight from God. She
always knew exactly what to say. She extended her love not only to her
children but to all who joined our family, welcoming them with the same
grace and affection she gave her own.
She set traditions that
became the heartbeat of our family. Christmas was her season. No one
did Christmas like Mom. She created magic every year. So, when
Christmas comes, we won't let sadness take over. We will remember Mom.
We will honor her, celebrate the way she celebrated, and embrace the
joy she brought. And though she is no longer here physically, she will
never be forgotten. We take comfort knowing that you are in a better
place now. Free, peaceful, healed, and whole. While our hearts are
heavy, we also know that your spirit is still with us, watching over us
now the same way you prayed over us.
Today, we honor a
remarkable woman-one whose love blessed us, whose prayers guided us,
and whose presence left an everlasting impact on our lives.

Joyce married John William "Bill" Deaton on January 25, 1958. They had
three children together: Steve, Nancy, and Joe. Joyce was a pillar of
strength when Bill was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease in his late
20s and passed away at the age of 50. Through her love and hard work,
her family persevered through difficult times and have countless happy
memories. Following Bill's death, she married Jim Roy Brown on March 5,

times, until Jim Roy's illness and death in 2017. Her final love was

and talking.
Joyce was a tough woman who held many different jobs throughout her
lifetime, including Haggar Slacks, Chatanooga Glass Company, and

loved because of the people she got to visit with. Joyce was never
without a terribly corny joke or a smile for everyone she encountered.
She lived her life to the fullest and was unapologetically and
outspokenly herself! She enjoyed her family and friends as well as her

joy in being with her family and friends and in experiencing life to
the fullest. She was a devout Christian and was a member of First

Robert Lano "Bob" Barron
Mar 12, 1948 - Nov 30,
2025
Robert "Bob" Lano
Barron, 77, of Corsicana, was surrounded by his family as he passed
into the presence of Jesus on November 30, 2025. He passed away from
complications of Myasthenia Gravis, an autoimmune disorder that led to
a sudden decline in his health. Known for his gentle spirit, creative
mind, steady presence, and unforgettable storytelling, Bob lived a life
marked by kindness and genuine care for others. He never met a stranger
and had a way of making people feel welcome within minutes of knowing
him.
Born in Austin, Texas, Bob's early years took him through Bangs, TX;
Mt. Vernon, VA; Columbia, MO; and ultimately to Corsicana, where he
proudly graduated with the Class of 1966. He went on to spend nearly
four decades teaching both art and high school math. He began his
career at Drane Middle School, teaching and coaching there for eight
years.
After his time at Drane, Bob stepped away briefly from education to
co-own and operate Barron & Lane Construction Co., bringing the
same steady work ethic and creativity to that chapter of his life. But
the pull of the classroom was strong, and inflation/interest rates were
terrible in the early 1980's. He soon returned to education-this time
at Blooming Grove ISD, where he would spend the next 31 years.
Bob's classroom became a comforting place for students-a room where
they could learn, smile, or simply catch their breath. Later in his
career, he was known for keeping peppermints in his pocket, handing
them out by the dozens to students and colleagues alike. It was a small
gesture, but it reflected the gentle, encouraging way he connected with
the people around him.
Bob married the love of his life, Janice, and together they raised a
family grounded in faith and love. He was a devoted husband, father,
and grandfather who rarely missed an event, no matter the distance or
the hour. A gifted western artist, Bob created oil paintings inspired
by the great masters of the genre and exhibited his work in shows
across the country. Even when his eyesight declined and he could no
longer paint, he continued noticing details others often passed
by-colors, shadows, sunsets-quiet reminders of the beauty he saw in the
world from the Creator he trusted.
A faithful and active member of The Cowboy Church of Corsicana, Bob
lived out his relationship with Jesus in practical, everyday
ways-through encouragement, service, and sincere prayer for anyone who
needed it. He loved fishing, camping, coaching, storytelling, and duck
hunting with his family. Those who knew him will remember his warm
humor, his vivid stories, and the calm reassurance he offered so
naturally. Bob leaves behind a legacy of compassion and quiet faith,
reminding others to look for the good in people and to slow down enough
to truly see those around them.
Bob is survived by his wife, Janice Bonner Barron; children Chad
Barron, Emily Price and husband, Steven, Jarrod Null and wife Laura,
and Amber Bailey and husband Major James Bailey; grandchildren Liam
Barron, Halle Null, Caleb Null, Audrey Null, and Doug Bailey;
sister-in-law Sharon Langford; and nieces and nephews Todd Hicks and
wife Jamie, Chris Coston and wife Lisa, and Mylea Lovell and husband
David. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. R. Lano and Yonia
Belle Prince Barron; sister Kay Barron Hicks; and brother-in-law Bill
Hicks.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Bob's
amazing medical team of doctors, nurses, and respiratory therapists.
Visitation will be held Saturday, December 13, from 6–8 PM at

Sunday, December 14, at 2:00 PM at the Cowboy Church of Corsicana, with
interment following at Resthaven Memorial Cemetery.

Kathy
Carolyn Partain, 72, passed away on November 28, 2025, surrounded by
the love of her family. She was born on August 26, 1953, in Borger,
Texas.
Kathy attended Dental Assistant School and was especially
proud of earning a 4.0 GPA-an accomplishment she lovingly mentioned
many times. Although she chose a different path in life, her dedication
and pride in her hard work remained with her always.
A true free
spirit, Kathy found joy in the simple and beautiful parts of life. She
loved spending time with her family, going to concerts, visiting both
the beach and the mountains, and cruising the backroads with her
daughter, music turned all the way up. Kathy was a Christian whose hope
and salvation were in Jesus Christ alone.
Kathy was a loving
Mom, Grandma, and Mimi who always put others before herself. Her
kindness was endless-she never met a stranger, never judged, and loved
her animals and her family fiercely. She cared for her loved ones with
unwavering devotion and remained by their side until the very end.
Though her absence will be deeply felt, her family finds comfort
knowing they will see her again.
She is survived by her son,

time singing with the Austin County Civic Chorale and volunteering with
the American Cancer Society, but her greatest loves were square dancing
with the Bluebonnet Swingers Square Dancing Club and taking road trips
with Jim and dear friends.

Diane was born May 25, 1953,
in Aurora, IL. She grew up in Minooka, IL and graduated from Minooka
Community High School in 1971. Diane married the love of her life,
Darryl Johnson, on January 13, 1973. Diane worked at the Kendall County
Supervisor of Assessments office in Yorkville, Illinois, before moving
to Texas in 1985. In 1988, Diane became the Human Resource Director for
the Medical Arts Clinic of Corsicana. It was during those years that
she formed a plethora of lifelong cherished friendships. Diane rounded
out her working years as the Clinic Manager of Planned Parenthood in
Corsicana, retiring in 2011.
Growing up on the farm helped shape
Diane into an independent and "can-do" person. Her love of all things
farming and animals, especially horses, came from her close
relationship with her father. Diane had a gift of encouragement and
leadership. Two of her lifelong hobbies were reading and basking in the
warmth of the sun. Great for Diane, she was able to do them
concurrently. Diane was a dedicated wife and mother, but she was an
incredible Grandma and took great pride in all the things her
grandchildren did. One of her favorite past times was taking the
grandkids on trips in their RV and creating lifelong memories. There
was nothing Diane couldn't bake, and everyone always looked forward to
her kumla, lefse and kringlas (Norwegian treats). Over the past eight
years, she fiercely enjoyed the company of her best four-legged
companion, Bella.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in
Diane's name may be made to Plattville Cemetery. Donations can be made
