HER HUSBAND'S OBITUARY

Charles Robert Simek of Haltom City, Tx passed away at his home on January 3, 2023 at the age of 92.

Born in Fort Worth, Tx on July 27, 1930 to Charlie and Carmen Simek, he was raised in North Fort Worth and graduated from Northside High School in May of 1948. After graduation, he began working selling cars. He met Georgia at a Czech dance in May of 1952, they got engaged in December of that same year, and married on January 2, 1954. Soon after, they moved to Haltom City where they raised their four children, Michelle, Denise, Chip, and Kyle. Heavily involved in church, they were members of St George Catholic Church in Riverside before transferring to St Patrick Cathedral downtown Fort Worth in the early 1980s.

He made a career of selling cars, working hard to support his family, until he retired in 2001. In their younger years, they loved going dancing, and traditionally attended the annual Harvest Dance at the SPJST Hall in Lake Worth with friends and family. Some of his favorite music to dance to was by Glenn Miller. He enjoyed watching Texas Rangers baseball or listening to it on the radio while sitting outside with a cold beer. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family… birthdays, reunions, road trips to Temple, Tx to visit the family farms or to Mustang Island near Port Arkansas to soak up the beach life.

Charles ("Charlie" "Dad" "Oompa") is survived by his wife of 69 years Georgia Simek, daughter Michelle Hoover and husband Chris, daughter Denise Niziolek and husband Charlie, son “Chip” Charles R Simek Jr., and son Kyle Simek; Grandchildren Slade Stephens and wife Kim, Trent Simek, Kyla Hearn and husband Chris, Staton Hoover, and Jake Niziolek; Great grandchildren, Charley, Tristen, and Landry Stephens; Sister Joan Shropshire and husband Bobby; And numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
