NORWOOD-MYERS NUPTIALS HELD IN CARROLLTON
Miss Eva Louise
Myers, daughter of Mrs. Will Myers and the late Mr. Myers, and Charles
B. Norwood, son of Mr. and Mrs. O. T. Norwood, were married in a
candlelight ceremony at the First Baptist Church Saturday evening. The
Rev. R. Boyd Robertson officiated.
Wedding music was
furnished by Miss Sara Myers, Organist and niece of the bride, and
James Douglas, vocalist. His numbers were "O Promise Me" and "The
Lord's Prayer."
The bride was given
in marriage by her brother, H. D. Myers. Her gown of ethereal blue lace
over satin was fashioned with a taffeta lined bolero styled with a
mandarin collar and push-up sleves, a fitted bodice and a full skirt.
She wore a navy velvet roll brim hat with crown and veil of starched
net. Her only jewelry was an heirloom watch belinging to her mother.
White nylon lace mitts with a wrist flair completed her accessories.
The bridal bouquet was a white orchid atopa white Bible with streamers
of stephanothis and white satin ribbons.
Mrs. Sue South
served as matron of honor. Her costume was of navy crepe, and she
carried a colonial bouquet of yellow miniature mums tied with yellow
satin ribbon.
A. T. Norwood of
Dallas was his brother's best man. M. L. Myers brother of the bride,
and Earl Sough of Dallas acted as ushers. Candles were lighted by Miss
Betty Jean Knoll, Dallas, and Miss Mary Francis, McKinney.
Following the
ceremony, Mrs. Myers held a reception in her home. On a candle-lighted
table laid with a lace cloth and decorated with floral arrangements of
white asters and yellow marigolds was a large ring cake. Miss
Regina Mayes presided over it while Miss Ruth Hughes served punch, and
Miss Edwina Whitlock and Mrs. M. L. Myers registered guests. Other
members of the house party were Miss Thelma Myers, McKinney, and Mrs.
Ray Ogle, sisters of the bride, and Mrs. H. D. Myers and Mrs. W. C.
Myers, sisters-in-law.
As Mr. and
Mrs.Norwood left for a wedding trip to New Orleans, she was wearing a
gray gabardine suit with navy accessories and an orchid corsage. They
will be at home in Dallas after Oct. 1.
Prior to their
marriage Mrs. Norwood was honored at a personal shower by Miss Edwina
Whitlock and at an open house by Mmes. H. D. Myers and W. C. Myers.
Together the couple was feted at a canasta party given by Mr. and Mrs.
B. B. Butler and another given by Mrs. South and Mrs. A. T.
Norwood. In addition the birde-groom was given a stag party by his
father. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Ogle honored them, and their attendants at a
rehearsal supper on the evening before their wedding.

OBITUARY
 Services
for Eva Louise Norwood, 90, of Tyler, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday
in the chapel of Jackson's Burks Walker Tippit Funeral Home with Rev.
Buddy Holland and Rev. Matthew Brennan officiating. The family will
receive friends at the funeral home from 10-11 a.m. prior to the
service. She will be laid to rest at Cathedral in the Pines Cemetery in
Tyler. Eva went to be with her Lord and Savior on December 25, 2016 in
Tyler. She was born March 24, 1926 in Carrollton to the late G.W. and
Sally Fyke Myers. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and
great-grandmother. She was a homemaker and member of Green Acres Baptist
Church. Eva and her husband, Charles Norwood, moved to Tyler in 1957,
upon their purchase of the one existing DQ in town. She worked part time
in the business with Charles. Eva loved on children through serving in
the church nursery and tutoring at Douglas Elementary for many years.
She delivered Meals on Wheels since the 1980's. The ladies in her Sunday
School class held a special place in her heart. She was preceded in
death by her husband , Charles; and by brothers, Darrell, Clifton, and
Marlin Myers; and sisters, Willie D. Myers, Thelma Myers, and Georgia
Ogle. She is survived by two daughters, Charlene Forster and husband
Darrell, of Tyler and Georganne Foster of Lindale; four grandchildren,
Melanie Muhr and husband, Mark, Joni Merchant and husband, Trent, Sara
Brennan and husband, Matt, and Rebecca Stuve and husband, Joey; 11
great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be
grandsons-law and family friends, Wade Clifton, Mark Clifton, and Len
Holland. Memorials may be made to Meals on Wheels in Tyler, Green Acres
Baptist Church, or The Hospice of East Texas Foundation.
