Patti John (Bunch) McNee Sep 9, 1931 - Jun 16, 2006
Patti John (Bunch) McNee, of Boise, Idaho, died Friday, June 16, 2006, at home under the care of Four Rivers Hospice. Patti
was born Sept. 9, 1931, in Corsicana to John and Minnie Bunch. She grew
up in Corsicana and attended North Texas State in Denton receiving her
degree and teaching certificate in 1952. Patti was active in Little
Theater Productions while attending North Texas State. After graduation
she moved to Los Angeles, Calif., where she met her husband, Gene, who
was stationed in Los Angeles as an auditor with the Air Force. Patti
and Gene were married on March 11, 1953, in Las Vegas, Nev., after Gene
received orders transferring him to Ladd Air Force Base in Fairbanks,
Alaska. While in Alaska their son, Mark, was born in 1954. When Gene
was discharged from the Air Force in 1954, they moved to Boise, Idaho,
where their son, Bruce, was born in 1956. After living in Boise
until 1958, she followed Gene to a job in Los Angeles. They returned to
Boise in August 1959. Patti was active in school activities involving
her two sons and worked part time at Bach Photo. In 1965 she was a
medical secretary and receptionist for Dr. R.G. Paterson where she
remained until June of 1971 when her husband was transferred to Twin
Falls, Idaho. In June of 1974 it was back to Boise for good. With both
her sons in college, she worked for a short time for Manpower Inc. and
then went to work at Boise Cascade in 1975. She retired from Boise
Cascade in 1989. During and after her years of working for Boise
Cascade, Patti was active in the Centennial Charter Chapter of ABWA in
Boise. Patti and her friend Jan Orton enjoyed traveling and attending
ABWA regional and national conferences. In addition to various other
offices Patti was president of the chapter for two years and Woman of
the Year in 1980. Patti and Jan also enjoyed getting together for lunch
most Saturdays for many years. Patti enjoyed being a member of
Gene’s immediate family, she made friends easily wherever she worked or
volunteered as well as with hospital staff members. She enjoyed
visiting her aunt and friends in the Dallas area on a regular basis.
She was a loyal Dallas cowboy fan during the Tom Landry era. Thirty-five
plus years of smoking was not good to her and she was diagnosed with
COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease) in 1997 and was placed on
oxygen full time in April 1998. She missed going to Dallas to see her
aunt and friends from the school years. She missed going to lunch with
her friend Jan Orton, so Jan came to visit her at home. She missed
going to her granddaughter’s choir concerts and her graduation from
high school. She missed going to her grandson’s football games and
other activities. She missed family get togethers, she missed going to
Arizona to visit her son and daughter-in-law. She missed her father who
was killed, when she was 14, by a hit and run driver who ran off the
road and hit him while he was retrieving a golf ball he had hit out of
bounds. However, with all of the misses she maintained a positive
attitude in the face of great adversity. Patti was preceded in death
by her father, John Bunch; mother, Minnie Bunch; and aunt, Della Mae
Hawes. She is survived by her husband, Gene; sons, Mark and Bruce
(Lynn); grandchildren, Heather and Ian; and her cousin Vel Hawes
(Connie) in Dallas; and many nieces and nephews. It is fair to say that
Patti enjoyed people and people enjoyed Patti. She is going to be
missed by everyone, especially her family. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today at Cloverdale Funeral Home in Boise, Idaho. The
family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Women and
Children’s Alliance, 720 W. Washington, Boise, ID 83702; or the charity
of your choice. Arrangements by Cloverdale Funeral Home, Boise, Idaho.

Milton Ray Lewis
Sep 21, 1930 - Jun 8, 2006 Corsicana Man Killed In Freak Accident Near Hubbard City Lakes A 75-year-old Corsicana man was killed in a freak traffic accident on Highway 31 west of Hubbard Thursday afternoon, June 8. Milton Ray Lewis was eastbound near the Hubbard City Lakes when the accident occurred shortly before 5 p.m. Witnesses told authorities that an object either fell from a truck or the rig’s wheels threw the object into the air. The
projectile glanced off the hood of Lewis’ sport-utility vehicle, went
through the windshield and struck the man in the head. It then glanced
up and dented the top of the vehicle. Authorities were speculating
that the object continued out the rear window, which was shattered, but
a search along the roadway for the item proved negative. It wasn’t
until Lewis’ body was removed from the vehicle that a ratchet used to
tighten straps on 18-wheeler loads was found jammed against the
accelerator. Two pieces of strap commonly used to tie down loads on
a tractor-trailer rig were found on the shoulder of the roadway several
hundred yards from where the vehicle came to a stop.
Authorities were speculating that the accelerator became stuck, causing the vehicle to speed up. The
SUV jumped a small ditch, went airborne for over 75 feet, crossed City
Lakes Road and ran through another ditch before stopping. Rural Hill EMS responded but the man was pronounced dead at the scene by Justice of the Peace Eugene Fulton of Hubbard. Witnesses
described a silver cabover tractor with a flatbed trailer loaded with
material that was westbound on the highway about the time the accident
occurred, but it was unclear whether it was involved in the accident. Hubbard police and the Department of Public Safety investigated. Notes:

Jordan was born April 6, 1964 in Corsicana. From his early childhood,
Scott followed his dream with his fascination of amusement parks.
Family vacations were spent visiting amusement parks across the
southern United States. Scott began his theme park career as a lead on
the log ride working during the summers at Six Flags over Texas,
starting at the age of 15. He continued working with Six Flags after
graduating from Corsicana High School in 1983.
Pursuing a childhood dream, he joined Walt Disney World in Florida as a
jungle cruise skipper in 1985. He realized that there was no humidity
in Los Angeles and off he went to Walt Disney Studios in Burbank.
There, he was with Disney’s Hollywood Record during its early years.
His vision led him to Digital on Demand, where he was an imagineer
assigned to Disneyland. While imagineering, he produced Disneyland
Forever and Walt Disney World Forever. Scott later started his own
company, amusementpark.com. He was also interviewed by Charles Gibson
on Good Morning America as a roller coaster expert. He was a theme park
industry consultant and show writer. You could ask Scott about any
amusement park in the world and he could give you more information than
you could ever want. He is the voice of the first ghost on the right in
the new attic scene in Disneyland’s Haunted Mansion. He felt that this
was his greatest achievement. Scott was the most creative and
imaginative person and will be missed dearly by his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Milford H. and Sammie Jean Jordan and Al Westbrook. Survivors
