JULIUS C.
JACOBS MEMBER STATE HOME SCHOOL TRUSTEES
Announcement was made today
of the appointment of Julius C. Jacobs, (above), prominent Corsicana attorney,
as a member of the board of school trustees of the State Orphans Home by Dr. L.
A. Woods, state school superintendent.
The appointment is for a period of three years beginning May 1, 1940 and
expiring May 1, 1943. In the letter of appointment, Dr. Woods said his decision
to appoint Jacobs resulted from high recommendations received from a large
number of prominent Corsicana citizens. He will succeed J. S. Calicutt whose
term expired May 1.
Mr. Jacobs formally accepted the appointment Friday morning. Other members of
the board include Edward E. Sheehey and Fred M. Allison.
