OBITUARY Penny Marie Wygren April 1, 1977 - January 13, 2026 Penny, age 48, passed away on January 13th 2026 in Lewisville, TX. She was born on April 1st 1977 in Dallas, TX. Her parents are Deborah and Richard Newland. Penny was raised in Carrollton/Farmers Branch and graduated from R.L. Turner High School and later Remmington College. She married Eric Wygren and combined had 3 children, Brittany Cannon-Cagle, Leisha Garza and Samuel Wygren. In her spare time, Penny cherished moments with her granddaughter, Lissa, and long phone conversations with her best friend Jessica of 33 years. She loved a good home cooked meal and joy of sharing stories, laughing, and reminiscing about her past adventures. Her friends will remember how her eyes sparkled when she laughed and her love of dolphins; how she always called to check in or sent a text requesting "proof of life" photos when phone calls were sparse. She loved to sing and had a beautiful voice – one she was genuinely proud of, and rightfully so. Penny was the glue to her family and cherished them most of all. We will miss having those conversations and always planning for our next event. We will forever miss this piece of our family and cherish the time we had with her and always work to keep her memory alive by telling her stories. She brought laughter and love that we will never forget. We all wish that we could have that one more conversation to tell her how much she means to us. We can only hope she knew through our actions and conversations we had she knew she was truly a wonderful daughter, sister, mother, grandmother and friend. She will be forever missed and celebrated. Penny is survived by her parents, Richard and Deborah; husband, Eric; siblings, Veronica, Katheryn, and Richard Jr.; children, Brittany and Samuel; grandchildren, Lissa and Emory; Aunt Donne and her best friend Jessica. She is also survived by many family and friends who loved her deeply. A graveside service will be held at Hilltop Memorial Park, located at 1801 N Perry Rd, Carrollton, TX, 75006, US. The service is scheduled for January 16, 2026, at 12:00 pm
