OBITUARY   Donald Wayne Splawn July 14, 1948 - December 16, 2025 Donald Wayne Splawn, of Denton, TX, passed away on December 16, 2025 at the age of 77. Don was born in Ennis, TX on July 14, 1948 to J.T. and Katherine Splawn. On December 23, 1983, he and his wife, Barbara "Bobbie" Splawn married and made their home in Killeen, TX and surrounding areas until 2009. After their retirement, Don and Bobbie moved to Denton, TX to be near family. He worked as a Manager for Wal-Mart for 29 years. Don spent his free time boating/fishing, golfing, working on his 1965 Mustang, and flying his Cessna airplane. He graduated R.L. Turner High School in 1966 and went on to earn his bachelor’s degree from the University of North Texas. After retirement, Don earned his M.B.A. from Mary Hardin-Baylor in 2007. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Bobbie Splawn; two sons, Richard Splawn and his wife Kathy, Robert Splawn and daughter’s, Lorie Eames and her husband, Brant Eames and Jennifer Parkhill; sister, Billie Jean Bator; sister-in-law, Billie Nell Splawn; grandchildren, Caden, Colin, and Isabella Splawn; as well as nephews, nieces, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his mother and father, J.T. and Katherine Splawn; his brother, J.T. Splawn. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, January 17, 2026 from 10AM to 12PM at Robson Ranch, 9501 Ed Robson Circle, Denton, TX 76207; at the Clubhouse, Bandera and Medina Rooms.
