Arielle Marie Dominique Rodriguez
December 3, 1985 - March 17, 2026
Arielle Marie
Dominique Grimmett (AMDG – Ad Majorem Dei Gloriam), married name
Rodriguez, was born on December 3, 1985, in Dallas, Texas, to Coye and
Judith Grimmett. The youngest of ten children, she was raised in
Farmers Branch, Texas, where she attended Mary Immaculate Catholic
School and R.L. Turner High School, before graduating from Texas State
University in 2009 with a bachelor’s degree in psychology.
From a young
age, Arielle loved gymnastics, dance, and musical theater, and she was
a member of her high school dance team. She adored the Radio City
Rockettes and dreamed of living in New York City - a dream she later
fulfilled.
Arielle was
deeply rooted in her Catholic faith and was an active member of the
Catholic Sorority, Mu Epsilon Theta, where she held the office of Vice
President while in college. She participated in and served on staff for
multiple “Bobcat Awakening” Catholic student retreats, including giving
the Agape (love) talk at BA26—a memory that she forever cherished.
Known for her vibrant spirit, she loved Bobcat football, floating the
San Marcos River, and surrounding herself with her many friends.
After college,
Arielle worked at a local winery and event venue in San Marcos, a place
she would return to many times over the years, where she made lifelong
friends with the owners, their children, and her fellow
co-workers—naming them all her adopted family - before ultimately
following her calling to serve others, working as a social worker
supporting children and individuals in need.
In 2013
Arielle married her college sweetheart, and in 2014 she adopted a black
pug named Luna Christmas Artichoke, named after three of her favorite
things: a favorite character from the Harry Potter books, her favorite
season, and her favorite food. And later that same year, Arielle
fulfilled her lifelong dream and moved to New York City with her
husband and Luna.
While in NYC,
she embraced the arts, formed deep friendships, and found joy in
traditions like attending the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree
Lighting each year, which always brought tears of happiness to her
eyes. Arielle continued working as a social worker, except for a brief
time when she worked as a legal assistant, which is where she met
Peter, who quickly became one of her favorite people.
In late 2016,
her time in NYC had come to an end. She moved back to Texas and became
a certified cognitive coach for children with disabilities. Once back
in Texas, she and Peter began dating and making new traditions like an
annual beach camping trip with their three dogs: Luna, Ignatius, and
Bourdain. She also spent each Christmas in the Colorado Rockies with
Peter’s family and would snowshoe, build snowmen, and play in the snow
as much as possible.
In 2018,
Arielle and Peter moved into their own house and Arielle was able to
further lean into her love of Christmas with no less than two Christmas
trees every year—a 9’ real tree and 7’ fake flocked tree, set up all
manner of decorations both inside and out in the yard, and start a new
tradition of designing and decorating Christmas stockings each year.
And decorations never came down before the Epiphany on January 6th!
Arielle was a
deeply loving and thoughtful friend who cherished relationships and
made everyone feel special. She had a gift for connection. She never
wanted to lose contact with a person for any reason and was very proud
of the fact that she still spoke regularly with her teacher from grade
school and texted most days with her best friend from kindergarten. A
creative artist, Arielle enjoyed painting on canvas, often inspired by
her faith and favorite quotes, and she expressed her love through
handwritten cards, homemade arts and crafts, and constant encouragement
and prayer.
Arielle found
great happiness in life's simple pleasures—spending time with loved
ones, cooking, discovering new foods and recipes, favorite TV shows,
beach trips, time in the mountains, and especially Christmas, her
favorite season. Her home was filled with warmth, tradition, and
creativity, reflecting the love she gave so freely, and her joyful
spirit, radiant smile, and playful energy lit up every room she
entered. Arielle left an indelible impression on every person she met,
and her absence is keenly felt.
Arielle passed
away suddenly on March 17, 2026, at the age of 40. She was preceded in
death by her father, Coye Grimmett, and her brothers, Gannon, Becket,
and Aaron More Dominic Grimmett. She is survived by her partner, Peter
Eichman; mother, Judith Grimmett; brothers, Quinn, Etienne, and Myles
Grimmett; sisters, Leslie Hammack, Jennifer Doviak, Danielle Cain, and
Jordanna Grimmett; nieces, Emily, Claire, Kathryn, Madison, Fatima,
Sophie, Melanie, Caroline, Mallorie, Makenzie, Brianna, Avery, and
Cailin; nephews, Benjamin and Becket; Goddaughters, Makenzie, Gracie
and Kaylin; and her fur babies; Luna, Ignatius, and Bourdain.
A memorial
Mass and interment will be held on June 5, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Mary
Immaculate Catholic Church in Farmers Branch, Texas, followed by a
celebration of life at the nearby Knights of Columbus Hall. All who
knew and loved Arielle are welcome to attend as we mourn her untimely
passing and celebrate the beautiful, joy-filled life she lived.
