OBITUARY
 
Janice Goolsby Riefler
Mar 19, 1947 - Jun 18, 2026

Janice Goolsby Riefler, 79, of Denton, Texas,  passed away peacefully on June, 18, 2026, in Denton.  Born in Dallas, Texas, on March 19. 1947, to Chester Hollis Goolsby and Geneva Chrystal (Carpenter) Goolsby.

She was a graduate of R.L. Turner high school in Farmers Branch, Texas.

Janice loved caring for children and opened a daycare in her home, where she lovingly looked after others' children.

She also had a big love for animals, especially dogs and cats.

Janice loved to travel, enjoyed meeting people wherever she went, and easily made friends with everyone she encountered.  One of her favorite places to go was the Canton Monday Trade Days with her friend, Pat.

She was also a very creative person and enjoyed expressing her love of the arts with embroidery and oil painting. Those were her favorites.

Those left behind to cherish Janice's memory are three sons; Corbin Hollis Choate , Samuel Riefler and his wife, Jenny of San Diego, California, and Jason Riefler of Denton; daughter- in-law, Carrie Adamson-Riefler of Lewisville; five grandchildren, Leighton Choate, Ema Riefler, Liam Riefler, Camden Riefler, and Arria Riefler; and nephew, Bobby Goolsby and wife Angela of Alvarado, along with their three children, Jayci, Denton, and Brady.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Chester and Geneva Goolsby; one sister, Sharon Cochran; and one brother, Duane Hollis Goolsby.
