Ten brothers and sister ahead of him, he was scrappy and feisty. He was born in Dallas and lived most of his life in Carrollton, TX. That all changed when he met Eric Shutler, his second husband. Whisked away from Dallas, he became a diplomat’s spouse. Traveling to Bamako, Mali and Pristina, Kosovo. He met a whole new world of friends, who like his home town friends, he continued to communicate with like they were right next door. He was a joiner. He was a member of Palm Springs Front Runners and Walkers where he medaled in his age group and completed the 5K walk at age 86. He was also a member of the Great Outdoors and Rainbow RV club. Until very recently he attended Silver sneakers at the gym, 3 times a week.

In his world there were no strangers, just friends he had not met, Yet.
