OBITUARY
Ida Rosalie
Crawford Madison
Birth date:Dec 15, 1944 - Death date:Jan 6, 2026
Ida Rosalie Crawford Madison, 81, of Carrollton, Texas, passed away on
Tuesday, January 6, 2026.
Ida was born on December 15, 1944, in Helena, Arkansas, to Elmer and
Sara Crawford. After moving to Texas “as fast as she could”, she
attended schools in Dallas and graduated from Carrollton High School.
She went on to attend North Texas State University, where she studied
Journalism and Spanish.
Following college, Ida worked for AT&T as a Custom Service Manager
before taking early retirement in the early 1980s. She later found her
calling in education, beginning as a substitute teacher in the
Carrollton-Farmers Branch Independent School District and eventually
teaching Spanish and Exploratory Language full-time to middle school
students.
Ida grew up attending Highland Baptist Church in Dallas, TX, and later
was a member of First Baptist Church at the Fields in Carrollton.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Gary Madison; her
daughter, Stacie Elisabeth Madison; her parents, Elmer and Sara
Crawford; and several close cousins and friends. She is survived by her
daughters, Sara Madison and Stefanie Madison, and her beloved grandson,
Benjamin Glass.
Ida will be remembered for her tenacity and unyielding strength. She
leaves behind a wide circle of friends – including her Geezers group,
fellow twirling and dance moms, and many others whose lives she touched
through her children and her years of teaching. Above all, Ida will be
remembered for her perseverance and determination in the long search
for her missing daughter, Stacie – a journey that defined her faith,
strength and devotion. She is now reunited with her daughter in heaven.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at 2:00 p.m.
at Restland Funeral Home in Dallas, Texas. In lieu of flowers, memorial
donations may be made to the National Center for Missing &
Exploited Children or Refuge of Hope Peru.
