Dr. House, 'Daddy' of Truth Serum, Dies
DALLAS, TEX., July 16 (AP) - Dr. R. E. House, nationally known
physician and discoverer of "Turth Serum," died last night at his home
in Ferris, near here.
Dr. House had suffered for the last twelve months from a stroke of
paralysis. He was born near Farmer's Branch, Dallas County in 1875. He
discovered the powers of scopolamine hydrobromide, which became known
over the United States as "Turth Serum," and was used for a time by
officers in tests to determine whether persons charged with crime were
innocent of guilty.

Inventor of Turth Serum Is Dead
DALLAS, Tex. July 16
(AP) - Dr. E. T. House, 55, discoverer of "truth serum" and nationall
know physician; died last night at his home in Ferris, Ellis county. He
had been ill more than a year since he suffered a paralytic stroke.
While following
experiments with medicines for treatment of nervous disorders, he
discovered the powers of scopolamine Hydrobromide, which became known
over the United States as "truth serum" and was used for a time by
officers in tests to determine whether persons cvharged with crime were
innocent of guilty.
