Dorothy Mayfield Hickingbottom
Dorothy
Mayfield Hickingbottom, 78, of Denton, died Tuesday, April 17, 2001, at
Denton Community Hospital. Dorothy was born June 30, 1922, in Denton,
TX, to Frank and Virginia (Bullard) Mayfield.
Dorothy
was married to Bill Hickingbottom on February 14, 1954, at the Little
Chapel in the Woods in Denton, TX. She graduated from Denton High
School and attended Texas Woman’s University and the University of
North Texas. Dorothy and Bill were the past owners and operators of
Den-Tex Air Conditioning.
Dorothy
was a member of the First Christian Church of Denton; Past Matron of
Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter #214 Orange, TX; dual member of
Order of Eastern Star, Chapter #259 Denton, TX, and Order of Eastern
Star Port Arthur Assembly #160; The Social Order of the Beauceant,
Orange County, TX; and Scottish Rite Auxiliary for Women.
Funeral services
will be 11 AM Friday, April 20, 2001, at First Christian Church with
Dr. Oran Nabors, Dr. Charlotte Nabors, and Rev. Todd Hickingbottom
officiating. Interment will follow at I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Denton.
Visitation was from 6 PM to 7 PM Thursday, April 19, 2001, at the
funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Steven Kniatt, Jack Leggett, Max Leggett, Jimmy Frisby, Mark Kniatt, and Charles Ridens.

grandchildren William Todd and Richard Kent Hickingbottom, Matthew
Walden Freeman, and Allison Michelle Freeman; great‑grandchildren
Kelsey, Tyler, Cason, and Claire Hickingbottom.
