OBITUARY
Beverly Ann McCraw Draper
Age 79 • Southlake, Texas
Beverly Ann McCraw Draper, 79, of Southlake, Texas, passed away
peacefully on November 4, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born December 20, 1945, in Sanger, Texas, Beverly was the youngest of three children of Joe and Ruby McCraw.
She grew up in Carrollton and graduated from R.L. Turner High School,
where she proudly served as a band majorette for three years. After
graduation, she chose independence and adventure over a traditional
college path, beginning her career as a secretary with Braniff Airways.
She later devoted her energy to various roles within Keller I.S.D.,
became a small-business owner through her embroidery company, and
ultimately spent 17 years at Brinson Benefits-her daughter’s
business-before retiring.
Beverly brought beauty, order, and warmth to every part of her life.
She had a special gift for transforming a house into a home, from her
impeccably organized kitchen to the thoughtful seasonal touches she
added throughout the year. A talented cook who constantly experimented
with new recipes, she filled family gatherings with laughter, comfort,
and the scent of something delicious in the oven. Beverly especially
treasured cooking alongside her son Brian; their shared time in the
kitchen produced as many memories as meals.
Her approach to life was rooted in diligence, empathy, and
conscientious care. She noticed details others overlooked, followed
through on every promise, and gave her full attention to the people she
loved. Beverly’s selflessness and quiet strength touched everyone who
knew her. She lived generously—devoting her time, energy, and heart to
helping others and doing things the right way.
An avid gardener, decorator, and true DIY enthusiast, Beverly found joy
in improving anything she touched. She cherished shopping trips with
her daughter and her girlfriends, always hunting for the perfect
bargain or just-right accent piece.
Beverly lived with purpose, loyalty, and grace. Though frugal by
nature, she was rich in love, humor, and hospitality—gifts she shared
abundantly. Her conversations with friends and family could stretch for
hours, and she made everyone around her feel seen, appreciated, and
cared for.
Beverly is survived by her daughter, Dawn Brinson-Roark, and husband
Skip; her son, Brian Draper, and wife Mandy; and her step-daughter,
Kimberly Holt-Gunderson, and husband David. She was the proud
grandmother of Carson Draper, Chloe Holt-Hall and husband James, and
Grace Holt. She is also survived by her brother James McCraw and wife
Linda, and her sister Judy Cribbs and husband David.
Beverly became ill only a few weeks before receiving a cancer
diagnosis. The time from diagnosis to her passing was a brief 38 days.
In keeping with her wishes, no funeral service is planned. A
celebration of her life will be held in early 2026.
