OBITUARY
 Moroco Jebel Conerly
June 2, 1966 - July 26, 2026
Moroco
Conerly, also known as “Rocko” and “Souljah”, the son of Lawrence Cary
Conerly and Louise P. Brownlee, transitioned from this life, leaving
behind a legacy of love, faith, and service. He spent his final years
in Dallas, Texas, where he passed away peacefully on July 26th, 2026.
He carried an
incredible spirit—charismatic, dependable, and deeply rooted in family.
Though he is no longer with us physically, the warmth of his
personality will forever resonate in the hearts of all who knew him.
Moroco was a
graduate of R.L. Turner High School, where he displayed his musical
talents as a member of the school band. He was an avid music lover, a
skilled guitarist and songwriter, and a brilliant comedian in his spare
time. His love for cooking was well known, especially his talent for
cooking fish.
Moroco was a
man of faith. He was a man who never stopped trying, who never gave up,
no matter the circumstances. His perseverance and determination were a
true inspiration to all who knew him. An independent spirit, Moroco
loved being outside, enjoying nature's beauty, and lending a helping
hand to others. He was a dog lover, and his love for animals was just
another testament to his kind and loving soul.
He is preceded
in death by his parents, Lawrence Conerly and Louise Brownlee, and his
brothers Leroy Brownlee, Ronnie Brownlee, Ricky Conerly, Freddie
Conerly, and grandson Demarrius Hunter.
He leaves to
cherish his memory: his daughter Brittany Morris; sons Royce Morris,
Romel Morris; the mother of his children Gewndoly Morris, grandsons
Demariae Hunter, Tristan Morris, Demarion Hunter, Royce Morris Jr.,
Romel Morris, Romeo Morris, Kaeivon Morris, and Kaden Morris; his
siblings Genetta Conerly, James Willis Grandy, Eula Grant (Lewis),
Herbert Allison, and Raymond Conerly; his nieces Brea Bryant, Mariah
Abercrombie, nephews Kinta Conerly, Eric Coddy and a host of nieces,
nephews, uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends who will continue to honor
his legacy.
Moroco's
spirit lives through the love he shared and the lives he touched. The
family invites all who knew him to celebrate his life by sharing
memories and photos on his memorial page. In these tributes, comfort
can be found, and his presence will continue to shine.
Services will
be held at Family First Funerals and Cremations, 2703 Elsie Faye
Heggins Street, Dallas, Texas, 75215, on Friday, August 14, 2026, at
2:00 pm CDT. Please join us in celebrating the life of this remarkable
