ARTICLE HELEN CROUCH was graduated from Farmers Branch grade school and then came to Carrollton to attend high school. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Crouch. She plans to work next fall. Miss Janie Stark is the teacher that Helen considers has done more for her than any other. Zane Grey is her favorite writer. American history and bookkeeping are helen's favorite subjects. Vivien Leigh and Clark Gable are her favorite movie stars.  Basket ball is the sport she likes best.  Johyn Harrison Jr. is the senior that she thinks has done more for the school than has any other senior this year. Mrs. T. J. Marsh, Mrs. Pansy Langston and Mrs. W. R. Hastings are her three best adult friends. Helen would like to spend her adult life in Dallas. OBITUARY IOWA HELEN CARLSON Helen M. Carlson, 72, Davenport, died Wednesday, Dec. 20, 1995, at Genesis Medical Centery, West Campus, Davenport. Services are 10 a.m. Saturday at Runge Mortuary, Davenport. Burial is 10 a.m. Tuesday in National Cemetery, Arsenal Island. Visitation is 5 to 7 p.m. Friday. Memorials may be made to St. Paul Luthern Church, Davenport, or a favorite charity. The former Helen Crouch was born Jan. 19, 1923, in Dallas, Texas, the daughter of James and Fay Harbin Crouch. She married Richard "Dick" Carlson Feb. 3, 1946, in Corpus Christi, Texas. She was employed in hotel management; and also real estate, including Park View Realty and Mel Foster Co. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Davenport, and Quad Cities Plus 60 Club. She served as a Wave in the U.S. Navy from 1943 to 1946. She enjoyed golf and bowling. Survivors include the widower; daughters and sons-in-law, Maureen and Bud Diehl, Lewiston, Pa., Deborah and Allen Day, Kansas City, Mo., and Linda Carlson, Dallas; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and three sisters.
